whether you're going to one of the stuffy traumatic British variety or to a fantasy variant to learn to become a magitech child soldier, boarding school sure is a setting where things occur
excluding harry potter bc i dont want to catalogue every installment of that annoying franchise in this list so just assume they're all here and belong. Also are there ANY X-Men games that actually take place in Xavier Academy?? My 4 minutes of research suggests there don't appear to be and tbh that's shocking

ok technically this takes place in more of an orphanage/hallucinatory trauma blimp but you cant deny the boarding school energy here
technically summer camp but basically still a palette swap of all the boarding school criteria
not really stylistically/mechanically what i'm looking for here but BB has enough contempt for stuffy academia to at least deserve a lil nod

YES Deracine how could I forget TY!!!! One of the strongest representations of the vibe. Adding Ikenfell as well, I wasnt sure to include LIS or not since it feels like this weird hybridized commuter art high school/college thing but you're totally right, the school and lodgings are centralized enough to belong here too

@Hattori totally agree, everything about the mood of that space and the way you're introduced to it is so great. slime scholar is one of my fave npc designs as well, some Henry Darger evil Glandelinian officer energy
@Ludzu the continual suggestion of Earthbound from people across several of my disparate lists 100% feels like the cosmos demanding I actually play it! Idk why I've been putting it off for so long when everything I've seen about its attitude/vision indicates it will probably become an immediate all-timer

oh kind of obvious but easy to neglect, persona 3 is set at a boarding school and its pretty integral in all ways
oh doy thank you! it been a minute and I totally forgot how good the whole shared dorm building feeling is in that one and how it changes the evening vibes
