do an intelligence/magic playthrough of this and get the Firestorm sorcery early and you will forever be enraged at how they ruined that spell in the later games

I think I would like this at least 5% more if it didn't have that lame "shadows die twice" subtitle. You don't get to do that until you've actually released DLC to bundle the game with!

to be completely honest I haven't actually played this all the way through ever lol but I have started it and played the first third or so like four times now... one of these days I will finish it and maybe it will swap places with Sekiro

A genuinely pathetic downgrade from the prior three games (not counting Bloodborne, you can see the seeds of DS3 in that game though) on every level, one of the ugliest games to come from such an accomplished team ever, and the clearest indictment of what I'll affectionately call Fromsoft's "late style". Thank God for Elden Ring, as flawed as it is, without it they'd have gone a decade now without releasing a single good game.

If you think the Demon's Souls remake is better than the original, if you think it "replaces" or "fixes" the original, if you prefer its art direction, tone, or score in any way to any extent, YOU are the reason videogames will never be accepted as a legitimate art form. Fuck you!!!
