2018

The memes and fanart did not prepare me for the harrowing experience that is simply surviving in this game.

I played it.
It was a Zelda game.

It’s not my bread and butter, I can see what others like about it, but I just really find myself not enjoying 90% of my time playing.
Open world games are just not usually my thing.
Definitely not worth the price tag though.

A really fun citybuilder that has has had me and my dad completely enthralled for the last few months. My only complaint is the lack of things to do after the major milestones, I simply find myself abandoning my city at about 100,000 population either because there is little left to do, or my Switch keeps crashing as it can’t handle the size of the city.

I’ll find myself playing it every once and a while, but I never get super far and just don’t enjoy the movement and story that is very character heavy and focused rather than having an overall narrative, but hey, it’s a rather relaxing farming sim with some other stuff too and my main problem with it is that I have commitment issues.

While the graphics look like shit(other than a few impressive, but grainy, shots during cutscenes) the game is generally very good with great story, gameplay, characters, music, and a real raw RPG experience.

A beautifully well crafted game that has real heart and passion behind it. A rather short, but fun, and relatively difficult game.
And I will always come back for a replay if not for the story or gameplay(both top notch) but for the music. Almost unmatched among video game soundtracks.

Nothing I can put into words can describe my love of this game.
It’s lore, art, passion, story, characters, music, gameplay, fanart and fandom as a whole, smooth movement/combat, boss fights, and it’s whole vibe. All fantastic.

An all together fantastic empire-builder game that I have spent(not wasted) a lot of my life on, nearly 600 hours in fact.
The sheer variety of playable civilizations, unique, and interesting abilities to each civ make for great replayability.
Multiplayer is fun (if a little painfully long at times) and can make for a fun sit in night with friends.
DLC is not required for a good experience, but greatly enhances it.
Overall a very good game to a very good series, can’t wait for the next one.
