Tbh this isn't even the worst game I've ever played and it has some nice ideas, but it's not very interesting at the same time either. There's some unironic enjoyment in the combat for me and being able to specialize sounds really cool but unfortunately it does suffer from needing to level a specific way to get around difficulty spikes easier and counteract the fact enemies will only drop items if you have 0 of that item on hand and no way to buy more. It's definitely a bit overhated, but it's not like it should be loved either

Fantastic game and well worth preparing by playing most the previous games in the series for, but even if you haven't it's just as good a newcomer experience I feel. There's only a few missions I really loathed (all NG++) because of specific enemies like the ones that are Armored Core equivalents of those little bone wheel fuckers from Dark Souls but overall wasn't enough to ruin the experience I had from start to end with this one. Fantastic game and well worth the three full playthroughs to see everything.

This improved AC4 so so so much for me in every way it's kinda crazy. The arena implementation and how it changes depending on the route was great, the missions themselves were really fun and solid, the game wasn't as pushover easy as 4 (it even has one of the hardest missions in the entire series depending on which route you go) and I was super engaged in the story. The Armored Fortresses were so fucking cool man.

This one is a mixed bag for me, the gameplay itself is very fun and I LOVE chainboosting and all these new mobility systems, it feels very fresh and just overall very fun. My issue is mostly that the story mode gameplay itself is kinda just, boring. I finished every single mission with a default mech and the only one I was even at risk of dying in was the final mission. The story didn't really engage me either because I blasted through it too fast.

I was preparing to defend myself from sounding insane cause I really liked this one even though it was definitely a bit harder than the rest and thought maybe I might be the weirdo but I'm glad to see others liked this one a lot as well lmfao. The branching paths and choices really feel the best in this one and there's so many different endings that it takes a lot of effort but it always feels fresh and fun for me. It's also just one of my favorite AC stories of them all, extremely cool and fun and a good farewell before they changed up movement from 4 on. (Which I do like as well, but it's just a different flavor y'know)

it was a bit worse than the other "3" games but not by much and I do like things it does, it starts the whole multiple playthroughs to see every mission instead of just unlocking them all at the end which is fun. and it does introduce dual stick support but I still preferred the OG D-pad controls so I played through it with those anyways and it was still perfectly playable

this one is probably the most "thing but more" an expansion gets in this series and considering I liked 3 a lot of course I liked this as much. it's good, and the last AC game I got 100% in (i was on a timer since 6 got closer to releasing)

liked this one a lot! i can't remember specifics cause it's been a while but as the world you spend the most time with in any entry i liked it and this is probably my favorite first entry of any besides AC6.

eugh. too many missions, a lot of repetitive reusing of locations, and overall i just really didn't enjoy this one at all. the big mech battle is kinda all that stuck with me, i don't even remember the final mission

I do like this game and it even introduced some of my favorite mechanics to mechbuilding they removed from later titles like managing mech temperature with radiators and such, but some of the missions in this game are extremely evil and the default starting weapon is so ass it makes the first mission feel a lot worse than it should. other than that it's still fun

this one goes crazy i looove the integration of arena with the story. and while it's nothing to blow me away (especially with how awkward the translations still felt) it was a really cool buildup to the final boss and fight and it's stuck with me ever since. the best of the 1st games for sure.

at the time I thought it was better than AC1 but as time went on I was a bit soured by how a lot of the content in this one felt a bit lacking with a lowered mission count and not very interesting arena application compared to later entries. it's still a fine game just not a favorite

Decided to play this series on a whim after AC6 had been announced last year since I've always had my eye on it. I liked this a lot as a starting point! had enough fun I even got 100%

it is cool and fun, dunno if i'd go for a full replay of it anytime soon but i really liked what it did and am glad we live in an era where people aren't shitting on sonic constantly at the moment
