incredibly unique and captivating first episode - the characters are all very memorable, and the writing is on point. a lot of the horror is implied which can make it way more compelling. i'm very excited to see where this goes.

It’s really a shame that reactions to Stellar Blade are more focused on the fanservice or the coomer reactions. You got one group of people who just focus on the fanservice and hail the game to be the savior of sexualized women in gaming, and then you got the other group who view the game in a negative light because of the first group. And you know what? I can’t even blame them because the first group is really insufferable.

I don't care in the slightest about Stellar Blade having a "sexy" protagonist. I saw a trailer for it once and was immediately interested, because of how fun and unique it looked.

But coomers saw the female Protagonist’s butt and were obnoxious about it ever since. Like come on, it’s bottom of the barrel fanservice you’re going all crazy for. Literally everything I've seen about this game online is people with underaged anime character avatars cream their pants over how this game is "destroying wokeness" or whatever. Nothing against Eve, because she is really pretty and I actually really like her, but she looks like every female character in every korean MMO ever made. It's like people going to war over white bread. Apparently, these guys are now whining about censorship, signing petitions, and making videos of themselves (they look about as you'd expect) about why their cause matters lmao. These pathetic gamerbros will never not be incredibly annoying and cringe to me.

Because Stellar Blade is just so much more. Picture all those apocalyptic gachas and their really great world-building, fantastic atmosphere but really cheap and dull (chibi) gameplay, then amp it up to AAA levels – that's the magic of Stellar Blade.

The environments are beautifully crafted and the atmospheric soundtrack is another aspect I deeply appreciate and thoroughly enjoyed in this game. There's nothing quite like losing yourself in a captivating melody as you journey through vast, lonely landscapes and cities. Just like Nier, Stellar Blade really nailed its soundtrack.

The gameplay is just so much fun and showcases an exceptional level of refinement and polish. Every movement, dodge and parry hit the mark perfectly. The more skills you unlock, the cooler and more fun the combat gets. There's never a dull moment - the gameplay remains consistently exciting and stylish from start to finish.

I found the plot to be really intriguing, and I really enjoyed uncovering plenty of secrets and snippets of lore. But what really surprised me were the sidequests. Sure, some were usual filler content, but most served to make the world feel alive and deepened the lore. Completing them was enjoyable, they never felt like a chore. So good job there.

Oh, and I'm pleasantly surprised by Eve! Initially, I expected her to be the typical "waifu" (ugh, I hate that word), merely there for visual appeal with little personality beyond conforming to generic “anime girl” tropes. Most of these tropes revolve around being “innocent”, "naive" or a "sweet flower girl." But Eve defies those expectations, and I couldn't be happier about it.

Even though Stellar Blade took huge inspiration from Nier and other apocalyptic gacha games, it's still an extremely unique and fun game that everyone should give a chance. Don't listen to the manchildren throwing tantrums or all the buzz about the “fanservice," which is honestly vastly overexaggerated due to some optional skins. Honestly, aside from the optional skins, there are absolutely no horny aspects present in the game.

There are just so many little touches to the point where you can tell the developers really cared about making this game great, and they succeeded. Stellar Blade is simply a beautiful game.

This is the review of the entire Question Arcs.

Without love, it cannot be seen

I don't even know where to start...

Umineko has been on my radar for quite a while. Always at the most well ranked in game lists, a lot of good reviews and people i follow that claim it to be a masterpiece. But, the very long playtime always scared me because "it's a novel so i can't spent dozens of hours just reading, thats insane". I know i probably spent more time than this in text heavy jrpgs like persona or ffxiv, but i at least played something.

Than, a day I made a bet with a friend so I would read Higurashi and him Umineko, so we could explore this world of When They Cry and discover if it is all that. Of course, I am a game maniac, so i finished Higurashi before he even read 1 hour of Umineko and now i finished the Question Arcs.

Finally, the famous Umineko, did it live up the hype? Of course it did. Reading Ryukishi's first work in Higurashi and seeing now his universe being expanded is a really good feeling. I could see how much he grown as an author, and where he really shines. I will not lie that the first and second chapters of Question Arcs leave a lot to be desired, but the third and fourth made all that reading worth it.

I don't know how much more suffering i will have to endure next at the Answer Arcs (actually i know: A LOT), but I will be there and I am the one who will be crying, damn all these seagulls.

Just a quick note: Please, if you can, read Higurashi first, and all its universe like the manga sequel and extra chapter Rei. The experience will be far greater, trust me. It will be bad without it? Definitely not, but will sure enhance your experience, and not spoil A LOT of things from the previous series for you.

A complete masterpiece! The best chapter of the Umineko Question Arcs, and maybe the best one of the entire When They Cry (until another from answer comes).

There is only the highest of what he can write of the lore, the mistery, the characters (holy shit the characters), the atmosphere...

The ending question arcs deserved, and now GIVE ME ANSWERS PLEASE!!!

rf4 was like a huge comfort game for me. i have 600+ hours in it. it was one of my favorite games growing up. it was my third most played game on the 3DS.

so when rf5 got announced i was like wow that's awesome! AND i can be a lesbian? i'm sold!

unfortunately the game ran so terribly on the switch to the point where it was almost unplayable (there's only so many performance issues i can deal with at the same time). it felt like so much of the charm from rf4 was lost, and as much as i tried to like the characters, most of them never did it for me. the combat is much more fun in this game though than it is in rf4 (though it's been a while), but that's not nearly enough to make up for all the other issues i have with this game.

it sucks because i really wanted to enjoy this game and i was especially excited to see how a 3D rf game would look. but after a certain point i just put the game down and thought "i wonder if i'd have more fun playing literally anything else right now" and never booted the game up again.

maybe i'll give it another shot on PC in the future but right now i have to marry ann in sos:fomt. my bad. shout out to beatrice though bc you were my favorite bachelorette in this game.

a beautifully paced murder mystery, unravelling into a web of philosophical themes backed by a stellar cast, fantastic pacing and a wonderful soundtrack. masterpiece.

What a ride! I've never been one for horror games, but remember having a decent time playing a part of Resi 4 on the Wii. After thinking initially I wasn't going to be able to handle it (that opening section kicked my ass), I ended up having an amazing time playing through the Resi 4 remake. The right level of spooks for me, and I intend to go back and play some of the other games from the series.

It's not my favorite Mario RPG in terms of mechanics or story, but man does this game have the best vibes out of any N64 game.

Wow i didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did.

Ghost of Tsushima isn't a groundbreaking openworld game, but it is REALLY REALLY fun :3

Easily the weakest aspect of this game is it's story. While I wouldn't call it bad, it is very bland. The game has the pieces to a good story with Jin's weakening honor, his quest for revenge, and his pursuit to free his people, but it doesn't say much with any of this. The acting is pretty much the same. Very serviceable, with only a few stand out moments.

But the gameplay? That's a whooole 'nother story.

While exploration is also kind weak, that is wear the faults of this game end. Ghost Of Tushima's traversal is actually really fun. Sure it's not groundbreaking or anything. It doesnt come close to a game like TOTK, or Spiderman 2, but it's much better than GOW or FF7 remake.

While riding your horse, running, jumping, and climbing are all ok, it's how these aspects mix together with the grappling hook that really make things fun.

There's these optional shrines that can give you a strong charm if you complete lengthy platforming puzzle. And while I found little use for most of the shrines (since most of them just give minor stat upgrades), I'd still do the shrines because of how much fun it was to jump, climb, and swing around. :D

My only problem with the grappling hook is that the game barely takes advantage of it, so ends up feeling missed potential. Sure there's a few enemy camps, and Iki island puzzles where you can do some cool platforming, but I would've liked more.

Combat is fucking FIREEE thooo. Sure it's not as crazy as something like Bayonetta or DMC, but it's still really fun :3

The game really shines when it gives you an enemy camp, and says "Go". Ghost of Tushima gives you soooo manyyy options to kill your enemies. You can stab them, blow them up, shoot them, assassinate them, trample them with your horse, and sooo much more.

The boss fights in the game are pretty great too! Again, they aren't insane, and they do take away all of your combat tools other than your sword, but I didn't mind that. Ghost of Tsushima's combat system is honestly strong enough to make pure sword fights really fun.

You can get pretty fancy with you combos if you know what you're doing, and mixing up your attacks on a boss with a Ghost stance, or a dance of wrath never got old.

Oh, also the clothing in this game is FIIIIREEEEEEE
THANK U SUCKER PUNCH FOR GIVING JIN SO MUCH SAUCE

Finding meaning in a world with no definite metaphysical truth to strive for is already hard but compound that with being in an era of war and all the characters in this world being AI just beginning to understand having humanity. Their attempts at constructing meaning set to fail, saying so much about us in the process. You end up with one of the most profoundly written stories of the modern era. Heartbreaking, philosophical, masterful medium utility, almost meditative as an experience. Just a masterpiece.
