Dropped it 3 hours in, because I couldn't stand how unclear your way forward was. It seems like it's impossible to just push forward, because you'll get killed, but if you stand in one place, the enemies just infinitely respawn. Not an enjoyable game at all for me, and I can't understand how so many people like this game.

Definitely the most mechanically dense game in the Mario & Luigi series. Unlike Superstar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story, where you at most control 2 characters at once, you control 4 characters at once in this game. This especially makes for creative mini-games in the form of the Bros. Items, where you have to press the buttons for 4 characters instead of two, and in the fact that you can deal more damage by combining attacks with the younger version of that brother's attack. The story is pretty good, although it does feel very constructed at some points. My biggest gripe with the game is that it is just too damn long. In the beginning, I had a hard time motivating myself to continue, and it took a while before the game really got its speed up. I would consider this to be a pretty good game though, and the soundtrack is what elevates it to that level. We have great tunes like "Thwomp Volcano" and the final battle theme. Overall a solid game, but probably the weakest in the M&L series.

Another game by Toby Fox that totally has nothing to do with Undertale. Despite having very similar artstyle and character designs. It's like the Majora's Mask of Undertale, except when it comes to Undertale, that game is more like the Majora's Mask if you know what I mean. This game had its moments, especially in the final battle, but it felt like an inferior version to Undertale, even if it had an expanded battle system. I liked the mechanic where you had to prevent Susie from killing the enemies a lot. The game felt very long though, even though it wasn't that long, clocking in at about 4 hours. An okay experience with a pretty good soundtrack!

It seems like this game was hyped up by a lot of people, but I honestly didn't feel that hyped for it when I was to start playing it, mainly because I had played Overland which, while good, was kind of broken, and therefore I didn't expect a lot for this game. That was an expectation that wasn't exactly supported by the game, as I actually enjoyed myself quite a lot with this game. Actually, that is not completely true, the game itself is actually pretty boring a lot of the time. But I feel like my time with this game was worth it, because of the characters mainly. This game acts a lot like a visual novel in that the absolute main focus on the game is the dialogue and characters, which definitely are the strongest aspects of this game. The dialogue is pretty Undertale, but actually a lot better in my opinion. It seems to be perpetually self-aware of itself, so everytime the dialogue is a bit ridiculous, it always seems intentionally so. I also LOVE the environments of this game, it really nailed this pixar short film-feeling. And I also loved how the story got progressively crazier and crazier, culminating in an almost Lynchian fashion. I think a big reason as to why I got so relatively into this game was because at first, I played it with my girlfriend, and her enjoyment of it made me enjoy it a lot more, and we actually played it for a couple of hours together. A lot of times, this game may feel like a slog to get through, because there is just so much to do at most times. Talk to every character every day. And you should also explore completely as the secrets you find will absolutely be worth it in my opinion. But I'm not gonna lie: it was hard motivating yourself sometimes. But I ultimately felt it was worth it, because of the elements mentioned above. Something that adds to the game is how incredibly immersive it feels. My favourite element of that immersion is definitely the fact that the tune that plays when you are about to wake up from sleeping is constructed in a way that makes it feel awkward to turn it off by waking up whenever you do it. This is a good metaphor for being in a dream and suddenly waking up, and I do believe they thought about that when they made the game. Also, you can play games within games, and there is a lot of attention to detail when it comes to world building. Every major company that you would expect to see has been replaced by a similar company, but in this imaginary world. So, this game is interestingly enough a game that pulled me in through something entirely different than its gameplay. It had its moments, but it was the characters, setting and art that really made me stay. Great game, honestly!

Very nostalgic game for me, because I played both LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Star Wars II a LOT as a kid. It's still a lot of fun, and while some things are really annoying, for example the fact that you have to wait for coins to stand still before picking them up, the game is still really fun today!

I finished this game a while ago, and I had to take some time to think about what my opinions on this game were. I am very conflicted about it. The gameplay is mostly excellent, with the boss fights being especially good, but I can't get over how it feels like the game completely didn't feel like a Metal Gear game. The earlier titles all tried something new, with new settings, new characters, etc. This game is pure fanservice. It literally has bosses made up of the old bosses, and it seems like it tries so hard to end the series and tie together all loose ends, but I'm not sure if that worked out. I can't say I wasn't satisfied playing the game, because it was a lot of fun, and the radiator sequence at the end was straight up amazing, but I am very conflicted about the story. The soundtrack was really good though, with Old Snake being among my favourite tunes!

Pokémon Pearl Version was the first Pokémon game I played and owned. I love it so much, so naturally I was pretty excited when Nintendo announced Pokémon Platinum Version. I love all of the changes added to this game, and therefore, I love this game even more than Pearl. First of all, the game is faster than Pearl when it comes to battles, which does help making the game feel more smooth. Secondly, the story got an overhaul to the point that there is no reason to play Pearl for its story ever again. Now the story elements and battles are more exciting and more epic. Plus, it resulted in some amazing tunes, like Distortion World and Battle! Giratina, which are some of my favourite tunes in the entire series. Beating the champion at the end was extremely satisfying and I look forward to the post game content!

Probably my favourite of the 2D Mario games except for SMB3. It contains the most interesting mechanics, and is without a doubt the hardest. It is so relentless that I had to use save states to not spend 300+ hours on completing this game, because you get thrown back to the beginning if you get a game over and waste all your retries. The music in this game is damn good, especially the main overworld theme and the final boss theme. The level design is overall pretty solid and completing levels is very satisfying. A pretty good game.

2017

A pretty cool game. I must say that it starts out pretty badly, but as soon as you've gotten past the first level, the game becomes a lot more fun. One of the biggest pros in the game is actually something that should be a con, which is that the game doesn't really punish you for your actions. It is not necessarily a good thing in games, but here it is incredibly consistent with the theme of the game. The level design was mostly ok, but the biggest enjoyment came from the concept of the game, which is something I'm not gonna spoil here, as it is explained first during the ending. The game does have a lot of flaws though, mainly in the music, which is pretty preachy, and in the fact that the character you are controlling is moving a bit too slow for my tastes. It was a cool experience overall though.

A fun RPG where you don't have to grind at all. It has very good music, a suprisingly non-straightforward story and an extremely unsettling final boss. However, the characters are not very good. The standout music is Battle Against a Mobile Opponent, Giygas is Wounded and Battle Against an Unsettling Opponent (probably my favourite of the bunch).

I think this game basically does everything it does perfectly. It achieves exactly what it set out to do, which is to feel like a holiday. I fell in love with it from the first moment I picked it up, and very quickly I found myself considering this game to be a perfect 10. I don't think I have played it enough to justify such a rating though, and I would like to try it with a controller, which is something that I do not have where I am as of writing this review. It worked fine with mouse and keyboard, but I can imagine it will work even better with a controller. But I nevertheless loved this game. The world was incredible. Very small, but still big enough to find new things all the time, and because it was so small, I made it a goal to try and find my way around it: learn it by heart so to speak. While I didn't succeed on that, I am not planning on giving up. I loved the music, the atmosphere, and the movement mechanics. Skydiving to gain speed was super satisfying to do, and the golden feathers function like both a collectible and a difficulty select screen. It's one of the cutest games I've played too, and for those reasons it deserves this strong 9 that I've given it!
