Nintendo thinks a Star Fox sequel needs to reinvent the wheel to justify its own existence. Nintendo also has released four and a half New Super Mario Bros. games.

Game is good but not finished so no rating yet.

This review contains spoilers

Original, not rated, review: The game is good, and objectively at least an 8/10 for having new nia content, but I genuinely don't know what to make of that last part. I spent 80 hours and I think the story became too fast paced after chapter 5, crazy.

Rated: My opinion remains that this game really only has the flaw of needing more time to develop its villains with maybe an extra chapter, when taken in the context of a standalone title. Now for a game advertised in a way of being a direct continuation/conclusion, it falters. This game just goes half way by providing the constant references to the previous games but misses on the payoff, as ultimately, the entire game basically never happens; so I fail to understand how that is supposed to progress the overall "xeno-story" in any meaningful way as Takahashi has stated. Now this game does have WAY more hanging plot threads than the past games (ignoring X, as monolith does), so there is potential that the DLC or a sequel could retroactively make the story's ending more palatable, but as it stands it remains mildly disappointing. Chapter 5 is probably the best chapter in the series though.

Really at worst a few aspects of this game can be described as "disappointing" at worst. The characters, combat, side content, and exploration are some of the best in the series though, which is like 95% of the game anyways.

I'm stuck on viewing this as equal to 1 and 2, or less. I'll probably like it more in the future the more I reflect but for now I'd put it slightly above X, mainly because on of those games has Nia and the other doesn't, but below the first two.

1/15/2023: I can safely say, this game is worse than 1 & 2, about same level as X. Thank you for waiting.

2/16/2023: I like this game less the more I think about it.
6/21/2023: Eh I like it a little more now.

Using this as a psuedo-series retrospective (gameboy what's that?): Overall a fine enough series that never quite reaches the highs I would like from a gameplay perspective but is pretty consistent in excellent visuals. I'm not sure if this is controversial but I though Seven Sirens was about equal to the most popular entry, Pirate's Curse, in quality. This game does away with the weird half level-based/half metroidvania elements of the last two entries and simplifies to good ol' one map metroidvania, and the game benefits from it as a whole. Really my main issue is that the card system rewards killing enemies but I found a large amount of enemies to be spongy or placed in rather annoying spots for killing them. And a criticism in general for the series is while these games are simplistic platformer-mascot types, with presentation like this I think fleshing out characters would really boost the appeal and charm.

Final important though is I think the music is surprisingly underappreciated for its quality; I know people like it but its talked about way less than its contemporaries, what gives?

So neon white is walter white and neon yellow is jessie and neon green is gus and

One of the most promising indie games coming out. For all the indie games that seem to hit the same few genres it's always nice to see one that tries something new and ambitious. What's already here is good looking forward to the full release.

The rare sequel that really is just better than its predecessor in every way

I would put this more towards a 6.5. There is a lot to like from this game: solid gameplay, great music and art, decent level design, just all around charm

On the other hand this game really fumbles its metroidvania elements. Progression never felt as clear as it should and the backtracking never felt enjoyable as new powerups had limited uses. The map also was not well connected with teleporters never in convenient places. Lastly bosses were fun but take too long.

Over all this is a game that propels itself forward with its more surface level mechanics and visuals but struggles at a more in-depth level. Luckily the game is short so most complaints do not last long.

Well when an anonymous discord user recommended me seemingly a porn game but was like "bro bro ignore that bro it's so much more" I was mildly intrigued. While there certainly is some, explicit, scenes; at the end of the day I'll remember that this game just made me feel like a very fucked up person no matter what choices I tried to make. I certainly can't recommend this to most people, but if you just want a fucked up fantasy romp with murder and a certain other heinous act, sure go ahead. Also I guess it's a soulslike.

I also now feel the need to add that this game was a complete cluster-fuck of balancing but who cares.

I just felt the need to state that to me, this game encompasses so much wrong with gaming. I could argue that gaming is art, someone could point this game out and I'd lose the argument. This game was made by a board of directors, maybe even an AI. A complete lack of souls present from its art style to its gameplay pitch of being CS:GO (which it somehow looks worse than CS:GO despite coming out like a decade later) with the other latest trend, heroes! Naturally it has a battlepass as well, because of course it does. This "game" was made to get people to watch it on twitch and nothing else. This game does nothing better than CS:GO or any hero shooter and is a disgrace to gaming.

The "worst" game, better than 90% of other games.

I fell back in my chair, punched my monitor, cried, and threw up all during my playthrough

An amazing game that dodges a 10/10 because it messes up in areas like the boss runs and maybe being a little too obtuse for its own good in a few areas.

Roll off the stairs, I hate the game. Beat the big evil boss, I love the game. World 5, I hate the game. See maiden feet, love the game.

Some bosses good, many bosses too aggressive and annoying. Everything else really good :))))))))))

Maybe as good as opposing force, maybe better. Though only one has the skydoesminecraft intro song.
