Top down hack and slash with tons of character customization and weapon and magic choices. There are varied enemies and environments as well as boss fights that keep the game interesting.

A turn based rpg set in Harry Potter: The Chamber of Secrets. It actually tracks the events of the novel surpringly well. I remember that navigating through the castle was a bit of a slog before learning about/finding the short cuts that make traversal much better. There is also a card mechanic that will give you a one time use powerful ability after you scrounge the necessary cards.

A classic in every sense of the world. A 2d platformer with nifty mechanics that are great fun to use. The art style and sound design is amazing. Fills out some background on Mario.

An exploration and survival game based on the film by the same name. There is a hub where the player has to tame a horse needed to play the next stage. Each horse has different stats like strength and health, among others. Main gameplay consists of traversing a hostile environment with dangerous animals and some terrain dangers. Uses a code style of progress management.

A 2d mascot platformer. I think that each member of Mystery Inc have the same controls. Each stage is a revisting of a classic episode of the show with new hijinks caused by the antagonist.

I played the Gamecube version and Game Boy Advance version. Gamecube is 3d and Game Boy is 2d. An exploration and puzzle solving game with some action when combating enemies and bosses. Source material is amazing and translates to a game fairly well.

A game in the same vein as Tetris. Iconic music. I didn't and don't have the heart to get really good it.

A great collection of short games with wacky art style and characters. A good deal of the games are timing and reflex based, but are fairly easy to learn.

I played this without any knowledge of the source material but had a fairly good time. A jrpg set in a magical and strange fantasy world.

A 2d adventure platformer. You play as Shrek, Donkey, Puss In Boots, and Gingy through the events of the film. Each has their own playstyle and strengths and weaknesses. Overall a silly and lighthearted game.

Personally, I like Pokemon adjacent games more than the main games and this is no exception. Playing as a Pokemon in a dungeon crawling game with a decent story was enjoyable. Gameplay is semi-turn based and combat takes place in a grid style and happens in real time. Picking pokemon for your team is as important as in the main games.

An interesting game that's a reimaging of the events of the movie. The combat is a little peculiar as the models and attacks didn't fit what I expected. The gameplay is mostly about reaching a destination that has an item needed to progress the story, but there is also enough freedom to explore the various locations. Some of the locations require platforming which I found hard because of the art direction ie firm ground and a bottomless pit have a fuzzy border so it is hard to tell how far you can step without falling. I most enjoyed the parts in which you sail a ship and engage in naval combat.

A 2d platformer. I was too young when I played to fully understand all of the mechanics but I enjoyed what I did play.

I played this as a young child who enjoyed fishing and I enjoyed the game. Looking back it does have a bit of depth as you need to buy/aquire ammo and bait and then track the animals that you want to hunt or catch. I think that the different animals have unique movement patters and/or tracks so you know what to go for. The fail states were pretty funny as they happen very quickly and the fail screen has the character in humorous situations like his boat sinking in a lake.
