I finally finished the game and a lot of what i wrote in my initial review still rings true, but I have to shout out the RPG mechanics and how much your choices actually matter towards the ending. The game is definitely way too long and has a lot of unnecessary quests and plot lines but the creative choices work more often than they don't.

Perfectly fine 15 hour AAA action game

Awesome game but the updates are too big

The writing, worldbuilding and quests are so good but everything else is so bad. Bailed on it after a quest wouldn't load properly.

Overall very well made with great world building and story. The voice acting is a bit too over the top but is still serviceable. The mechanics are generally ok but could have been streamlined more. The biggest problem is how much repitition there is without exploring the gameplay more.

The core mechanics are very fun but could have been polished more. Some levels like 8-8 and the final boss are too rng based but everything else was pretty good

Extremely well designed but the difficulty is straight up sadistic and I therefore didn't have that much fun with it.

I didn't play that much of it but the writing and voice acting were so incredibly terrible that I couldn't play anymore of it. It's very clear that everyone involved cared about it and it therefore feels kind of bad talking shit about their game but I just didn't really like it.

It's quite buggy but I found the story and worldbuilding elements pretty good. The combat on the other hand is pretty bad. It isn't turn based but at the same time isn't actiony. It just simply doesn't feel good.

Borderlands 2 is a very fun game. The artsyle is unique and fun, the gunplay is amazing and the different guns are well balanced and very unique. What's not to love? Well let's start of with the world. The artstyle itself is really cool and one of the main reasons why borderlands is so iconic. The characters and world building on the other hand are pretty lackluster. None of the characters (except for handsome jack) are any good at all. They either fall into the trap of being boring and stoic or really annoying. The single worst thing about this game though is the sound design. It's all just loud and full of screaming enemies. I found the optimal way to play this game (for me atleast) was to alt tab into spotify and put on some music. And as for the levels, I think they're pretty decent. They give you enough enemies and loot to keep you entertained even though the locations themself aren't anything special.
Overall I would reccomend this game even though there are plenty of flaws with it. All of the problems I listed are really annoying but the weapons and gun mechanics elevates it to something special.

Really good even by today's standards. There are some design flaws such as the horrible car controls but the ground braking dialog mechanics and morality systems make up for this. There are still very few action RPGs where you get to control the (brilliant) story this much.

This is a really good videogame. I usually don't like metroidvanias because I always get lost and then give up, but this keptmy interest. My main gripes are just the usual metroidvania stuff as well as some difficulty spikes.

This is the worst game I’ve ever played. It’s essentially a mobile game for Nokia except they released it for the ds
