Demon's Souls

Got so pissed after watching a video on changes the Remake made so I went back and finished this one.
An amazing game that got so many things right for being the first in the series. Not only that, but it's still the most eccentric and experimental and unconventional one of them all, and oh how I wish more of that attitude carried over into later titles. I respect Dark Souls 1 for how it expanded and polished what was presented here but there's still some ethereal quality that I feel was lost in the process.
I now need to replay all souls games and reevaluate where they all stand for me.

Chibi-Robo may have been built with the purpose of cleaning floors and collecting loose change from around the house but nothing is going to stop them from salvaging a failing marriage while they're at it. I was 8 years old when I first played this and I think it's probably the first time I consciously realized that video games could be 'about something'.

An absolutely serene collection of vignettes that consistently manages to feel poignant even if the lessons at play aren't always incredibly profound. One could criticize the gameplay if so inclined but that would really be missing the purpose of this experience.

I really dig this, I'm terrible at rhythm games so it was extra satisfying getting the hang of each song during the lesson and applying it to the performances. And the character designs, the art, the menus, the voice acting, the goofy story, it doesn't get more early 2000s than this. Also the thought of Barbie Girl by Aqua being this ancient relic in 200 years is really funny
Need a partner like Clarissa that will encourage me to live up to my full potential(smashing into every car on the street)
