Used to hate this game on GBA, I dunno why, maybe its cause of the movie itself, but its a really solid licensed movie tie-in game all things considered. Quick and breezy game.

Fine game, wish I enjoyed it more than I initially did. Still need to play the Snatcher DLC Missions.

This game is conceptually badass and I love the style of it, love the main lead's design, music is okay and very repetitive. Its starts off pretty warm with its difficulty but then it escalates to the point where you want to spike your controller lmfao.

I felt like the blend of hack & slash and platforming elements could've been weaved together more naturally.

Overall, its a very trial and error game with pretty long levels if you play on standard difficulty. Your enjoyment may vary on this game if you're into that and I won't blame anyone if they choose to not finish it.

Actual hot fucking garbage, it's a port of a mobile game as well. Very buggy, glitchy, even got a softlock.

Don't buy. Music was okay though.

This remake (and DKC1 GBA) were my earliest gaming memories I remember fondly. Despite owning a bootleg cartridge of the game (yes seriously, it was the EU rom flashed on a cart but the localization label was from some Donald Duck game) I still had extremely fond memories of DKC2 on the GBA as the theming, atmosphere, music, levels designs. Just everything about the game really tailored my taste in gaming.

Nowadays, as an adult I prefer playing the SNES original of DKC2 just for the music and visuals alone but the GBA remake is absolutely no slouch and is worth checking regardless (same for the other GBA remakes of DKC). At its core its still DKC2, an already amazing game but the other little things it adds is pretty nice, they're nothing too substantial compared to what DKC1 and DKC3 got on GBA but its appreciated nonetheless.

Despite preferring the SNES original I didn't want to rank this game lower due to the visuals and music being crunched down to level with the GBA's hardware cause hey, I feel that does fall to subjectivity and it's still DKC2 which again, still a great game!

Another little gem in Siactro's library of skall games. Its a short and sweet little romp that pays homage to DKC.

Go buy it! Its less than a buck on Steam & Switch!

Cute little romp, very responsive and Kiwi is fun to control! Siactro back at it again with another fun little game.

This game radiates massive SNES vibes with its soundtrack and simple premise. Reach the end of each stage while platforming off tightropes with a unicycle.

Definitely recommend scooping up on Steam, its only $5!

At first I wasn't feeling Advance 3, the changes to the controls from Advance 2 was odd, and the duo character system was pretty cool, but in execution some teams are better than others. The game also bringing back a 3 Act structure was also kinda odd to experience. Not bad, just odd.

The level design was pretty solid, but I didn't feel very incentivized to explore either. Bosses were pretty neat and I liked the music and level themes. Overall its a fun game and i'd rank it inbetween Adv2 & Adv1

Just gonna say this general thought here, I think the Sonic Advance Trilogy is bar none the worst when it comes to collecting the chaos emeralds. It just gets progressively worse per entry and I really don't know why.

Advance Guardian Heroes was...interesting. It's a sequel to a console game that's considered one of Treasure's best and they decided to make it on the GBA. Allllllrighty!

For what it's worth, once you get some stats lined up, the game clicks, but I feel like Treasure really stretched the game to its limits to be on the GBA, the small performance dips are fairly noticeable, but not a hindrance really. However, I also feel like once you get a groove going with the game its already over.

As a sequel the game doesn't do too much either (not that I really play Treasure's stuff for story really), but it feels kinda plain. Its not a bad premise, but comparing it to the predecessor, that game gave you alot of options for replayability, but Advance lacks that aside from like one choice you could make if you die. That's it.

Overall, this isn't a bad game, it looks great and it controls well enough, but I personally feel like if Treasure wanted to make a Guardian Heroes sequel, they should've saved it a bit further down the line. A sequel to Guardian Heroes on the PSP would've been fire.

A Kirby game, while being a visual treat with a lovely soundtrack, comes off as a regressive entry to a franchise that was progressing (Super Star was already out).

Putting that aside though, as a sequel to Dreamland 2 it doesn't really do much to improve the prior game's issues it instead amplifies them by making the heart star collectibles really cryptic and the ability combos (now spread across 6 animal friends) being more situational or useless.

I still had a cozy time playing the game, I just wish it done more as a sequel to iron out the flaws from Dreamland 2.

I had this game on my radar for a bit cause it was brought to my attention from SchmupJunkie if I can remember, great channel btw. Despite being a fan of beat em ups, seeing this game in motion didn't entirely sell me on wishlisting it. It wasn't until EGS gave it away as a freebie recently and I played it with a friend and...Man I feel bad getting it for free on EGS this is one of the most enjoyable beatem ups I played in recent years and it might be among my favorites now.

The trailers don't really do it justice at all. Actually playing the game and feeling the movement and control, it felt soooo damn good. There's alot of depth to the game's combat and i love how each character has a varied moveset alongside unlocking more moves for them as the game progresses. You basically have fighting game controls too with parries, supers, cancels, its all here. The music is top notch (they got Johnny Gioeli on the fucking OST) and the visuals are badass. Some of the game's humor (visual & dialoguewise) doesn't land for me but its not enough to harken the experience. The game is fun as hell and I looooved causing so much carnage onscreen. Hell, they even have a mode where you can tag in another character MvC style, that's something I never seen any beat em up do.

My only issue with the game is how deaths work. If you die, there's a lot of waiting inbetween for the other player to hop back-in. Can't sacrifice one of your extra lives to resurrect a pal, or anything. You do come back on the next screen you go to, but you're stuck withe 0 lives and the character you selected. You only get your 2 designated lives back if everyone dies on a level. It feels like a weirdly archaic design choice when alot of beat em ups back then allowed for character switching and a lives reset upon a death with the penalty being a loss of score.

Overall though, Jitsu Squad is a VERY fun beat em up. I implore anyone to check it out if you love the genre, you won't be disappointed.

I bought an actual Sega Saturn today and these were one of the games I got with it. Fighting Vipers is a real damn good time. I love how quick and responsive it is and the music is superb. Fun time!
