Just a fella talkin about the games he likes.
Biiiig fan of character action games, but you can sit me in front of pretty much anything with a good story and characters.

I think if I have 100+ hours logged into your singeplayer action game with a campaign that runs for roughly 8 hours, you are doing something very correct.
RE4make feels like the perfect blend of familiar and different. There's parts of the game that are very deliberately designed to throw off people who know the original down to every byte of code.
Management of your ammo and inventory space is a bigger focus. This coupled with vastly more aggressive enemies makes for some really tense and fun emergent gameplay. It still keeps the top-tier pacing of the original that kept me coming back for more and more playthroughs.
How they handled the story is great too. Again, familiar but different. It's definitely more grounded but they still respect the cheesiness of the OG in spades. Love the glow-up for characters like Luis and especially Ashley.
I love video games.

Doom Eternal was an insane step up from 2016 for me. The gameplay loop for managing your resources is a lot more engaging. This combined with the beefed up movement and great level design made for some truly hectic, nailbiting encounters. I very heavily recommend playing on higher difficulties if you're itching for a good challenge.
As for complaints, I can't deny some parts of levels just suck a fart. Any encounter with the purple floor goop was especially frustrating to me. Additionally, I played on PC through Game Pass and very very frequently ran into crashes, and my PC is brand new and near cutting edge.
In the end, I think the game decently lived up to hype, and I recommend it for anyone who wants some fast, challenging action.
