The development of this remake took 4 times the amount of time to make the original. What the fuck.

Had a chance to play and review the game: it's a really well made remake of the original experience, that makes the gameplay much better for newcomers who never tried System Shock, and also for everyone who played it (1994 release or Enhanced Edition). There are some flaws, encountered some small bugs as well, but facing SHODAN once again in Citadel Station, which is just a tiny bit renewed to improve the level design, it's still an astonishing experience.

I used to live on this game.
This was the first game to really drag me into the whole "gamer" scene.
I used to love it.
And then I found out about how Starbound came to be and the people that were taken advantage of.
I refuse to recommend it to anyone and hope that one day the people who were taken advantage of and used get the pay and respect that they deserve.

This is an ambitious game, but I think it stretched itself too thin. It was very difficult to justify continuing to play it when I could boot up Terraria for a much more cohesive experience. As I look through the workshop it seems like the community has some fun mods to improve upon the game, but that doesn't change my impression of Starbound; it's a shame because the game felt like it had some passion behind it.

As I love Terraria, I presumed that I would like Starbound as well. Turns out, that is not the case. I am quite disappointed by about every aspect of the game and stopped playing after an early quest bugged out on me so that I could not finish it and would have to replay it.

was good during beta, but things changed, and i don't give credit for lost potential. also contains the fruits of some seriously exploitative labor practices. thanks chucklefucks hope it was worth it

okay now hear me out on this
what if terraria was boring, confusing, more grindy, and had a story that isnt engaging

After playing several hours of this game through multiple sessions, generally after sessions of playing Terraria, I was always certain it pales in comparison to the much stronger sandbox building 2D RPG. Deciding I wasn't going to extract any amount of fun playing through the game and onto this page, I stumbled into a controversy of the devs exploiting the labor of children in order to complete it. That simply seals that it was a mistake for me to invest my time into this game, and I can only try and steer people away from it to do right by the people who were taken advantage of. More than that, there was a lot of needless cruelty and sexual predation, grooming, asking for pictures of minors happening behind the scenes as well. Don't buy this game. Don't play this game. Play modded Terraria.

What if we hired children to finish our game for us and just didnt pay any of them. Lol
