A sequel that improves upon the game that came before it in terms of combat, story, and characters, soundtracks and areas I would rate equally
The entire journey and Rex's progression as a main character is a lot more subtle and nuanced than people give credit for. The end game is an absolute joy to spend time in, making the entire playthrough and new game plus feel rewarding to finish, to start grinding those challenge mode missions.
Blades are an interesting combat mechanic, having 5 characters who have different animations depending on what blades they use while having dozens of rare blades that all play differently. Sometimes differently depending on what driver you use them on.
The chain attack system from 1 was fun, but driver combos, fusion combos, and chain attacks in 2 I just love so much more.
A very immersive, well thought out game that only gets more fun the more you play. It is, in fact, the best game on the Nintendo Switch.

This game just kicks ass. Such a fun combat system with the way you can juggle enemies for super long combos, partnered with dodge offset and witch time to never stop the aggression even in the face of enemies counterattacking. Great style with Bayonetta herself and the soundtrack. Super fun, one of my favorites, as far as I can remember.

Such a unique and magical game unlike anything else I have ever played. Truly exploring this map and taking all the time in the world to complete this game created an experience unlike any other game for me. I do have issues with the shrine system and feel some areas are too barren but am not sure how to amend that. Overall, really great game.
2012
I would have to call this my favorite game of all time. For 8...? years and counting I have played this game to death. I have 11k+ hours in it and am still playing it to this day. The replayable is simply insane. Such a great combination of gun combat, rouguelike progression, and RPG elements. The writing is bad, yes, but I just play with the dialogue volume turned to 0. The way you progress through this game so smoothly, constantly having something to farm, something to do is just so great. The 6 unique playstyles you get from all the characters are all fun, at least 5 of them I always enjoy playing as on a consistent basis. And the end game is a complete joy. Two new game + modes may be seen as annoying, but I like it. The grind to the last level cap of 80, which was added 3 months before Borderlands 3, can be a big pain, but on the whole it is a great game. The overpowered levels reward you with a nice end game grind and difficulty spike if you wanna take the challenge, and raid bosses are fun too. PVE on the better made maps at end game is always enjoyable too, the game is just satisfying to play, and especially with all the random knowledge and tidbits I have on it. All the random statistics, strategies, gear and skill interactions, among many other things combine for a game that never ever gets old.
Although 2 of the raid bosses have glitched doubled health as of the final patch, making one an absolute ridiculous fight. Maybe we can get a 10 year anniversary remaster that fixes this.

Pretty great game with satisfying combat, but it gets a bit dull at points due to the brokenness of chain attack. I love the story and especially the areas partnered with the stellar OST. But just think it falls flat at times. Still a great game that provides a super memorable experience, but I think certain aspects of its quality are overinflated by people online.
