Trying Out Series I've Never Given The Light Of Day

I've been in a bit of a slump with new releases for quite a while, and lately I've had a much stronger urge to try all the older series that I've never really brushed up against before. I grew up near-exclusively on Pokemon and weird old PC games, so there's quite a lot of them! Let's see if I can find some new series to fall in love with!

Notes on series I've tried, anything else here is on the shortlist. Listed games are the first ones I played in the series, or the first ones I plan to. List starting from the start of the year (2023)

Rhythm Heaven Fever
Rhythm Heaven Fever
(Played: All but Megamix)
Loved this one! I've never really tried a rhythm game before this, all the guitar hero-looking ones intimidate me a lot. The fact that RH seems relatively relaxed (apart from the one in RHDS that invents the R button, that one belongs in the bin) in comparison made it really easy to enjoy. Donk-Donk can eat my entire asshole
(AWESOME)
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
(Played: FL, Dream Land. Dropped and stopped at Adventure)
Sadly not as big a fan of the Kirby games as I'd like to be. I had a little bout with Triple Deluxe a couple years ago but didn't stick with it for very long. Forgotten Land and Dream Land were both fun enough romps, but didn't hold me all that well (I dropped FL in the postgame).
(IT'S ALRIGHT)
Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
Touhou Koumakyou: The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil
(Played: 6, 7, 8)
Thanking user moschidae and an off-site friend for pushing me to get to these a little earlier. I'd only played ZeroRanger before this, and as much as I like that game I think the pace and general design of Touhou fits me much better - I love the slower pace with less focus on snap reactions. I love the patterns being made to be as fun to watch as they are to dodge. Only real sticking point is that I'm not much of a grinder so I'm not putting the time into each game that they want, just kinda acting as a tourist, getting my one clear with continues and moving on
(AWESOME)
Armored Core
Armored Core
(Played: AC1 trilogy; AC2; AC3, SL:AC, AC:N; AC6. Dropped and stopped at Last Raven)
Glad the AC6 hype made me aware of the series as a whole. I'm not exactly a FromSoft nut but a mix of interest in weirder old stuff and the game's focus on customisation made me interested. And my god does it deliver, because everything here - the customisation, the story and atmosphere, even the shitty (compliment) gameplay - feels like it was made for me specifically. Lots of them feel kinda like rehashes but it's like monster hunter where I don't care if I'm playing the exact same game I will eat that shit up anyway.
(AWESOME)
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
(Played: OOT)
As of writing this I have a save of MM that I'm halfway through and just haven't touched in 2 weeks and I've realised that I would like it so much more if it just wasn't a Zelda game
(NOT FOR ME, SORRY!)
