I started playing the original game not realizing it had a sequel, but was delighted to discover so upon finishing and hopped into this one right away.

This game improves on a lot of the gameplay issues that I had with the first installment. I appreciated how the conversations you started in one location continued across loading screens, so you didn't have to wait around for them to finish before moving on. Load times and glitchiness were also improved, though I should note I opted to play this one on PS5 instead of Switch like the first one in an effort to avoid some of that lag.

I was happy to see the return of the radio mechanic, though it didn't feature as heavily as it did in the first game and I liked the additions of new gameplay features such as the walkie talkie.

The story was a worthy follow up to the first. I didn't love Reiley and Jacob as much as I did Alex and Jonas, but I still found them to be likable and compelling characters and was invested in their friendship and their quest.

My only real compliant is that I wish we'd gotten to see more of the characters from the original game. Since this is a direct follow up as I player I was invested in characters from the last chapter and was hoping to get a bit more of them then we did here. But hey, here's hoping we get an Oxenfree III.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this game! I was instantly attached to the characters and invested in their relationships - particularly Alex and Jonas'. Loved the atmosphere and dialogue based gameplay (which was very well written). I also found the radio mechanic to be novel and I liked how well integrated it is into exploration as you make your way around the island.

I experienced some glitchiness with the characters following you and some pretty long loading screens between locations (though I was playing on Switch, so that might have exasperated this issue), but overall those issues weren't enough to effect my overall enjoyment of the story.

I would definitely recommend this game to fans of narrative focused gameplay and classic adventure games.

I want to like this game but I really struggle to get over the graphics. I don't need my games to have the most state of the art ultra 4K graphics, but this game is just so ugly to look at and runs so poorly to the point that it starts to negatively impacts the experience of playing it. Which is a shame because there is some stuff I like about this entry in the series. I really love the open world concept and some of the new mechanics and pokemon.

Game play is really fun, but the story is a slog to get through and I couldn't have been paid to care about any of the characters - which was pretty disappointing given this game is coming after FE3H which has some of the best character writing in any game I've played.

I know this is a hot take, but this game slaps actually

2022

I really dug this game. But then again, I'm a huge cat-lover so like this game was basically designed in a lab for me specifically.

I loved the setting and the cyber-punk feel of the world, as well as all the characters you meet on the way. The character really does move like a real cat and I love all the little mannerisms they gave him. The game is short, but I didn't mind that because I felt the experience was well crafted, and I was engaged the entire time.

My only real compliant is the ending is rather abrupt, I would have appreciated a little more wrap up .

Okay so, this game is my entire childhood. This review is completely based on nostalgia and nothing else, and I can own up to that. And frankly it's a crime that it hasn't been remastered for newer consoles, because I would play the shit out of this if they did.

Is this the best Kingdom Heart game in the series? Probably not, but it's probably my favorite.

I really thought they did interesting character work with Sora in this one, which in my opinion was long over due. I also loved seeing all the characters from the other games finally come together. Call me a sap but I loved seeing them all reunite.

I also love the world design and I personally think the writing in the Disney world's is probably the best of the series. I felt like the Disney character's were actually interacting with the KH characters in an interesting way.

The combat is really fun and I liked the addition of the key blade transformations and shot lock. Sure, I could do without the attraction flows but those can be ignored if you don't want to use them.

Only thing that keeps me from giving it a full five stars is because as many people have pointed out, it's just a bit too easy. Yes they did eventually release the critical mode, but frankly the game is still missing a mode that is harder, but not critical level. Overall that's a pretty minor gripe on my part.

I mean there is nothing I can say about this game that hasn't already been said. It's a masterpiece.

2018

I played this game over the 2021 Christmas holiday, and I played it for so long and so intensely that it triggered my carpal tunnel and I had to wear a wrist brace for the next week.

I've never played a rouge-like before so this was a new genre to me, and I was surprised how much I liked the gameplay. The combat is fast-paced and fun, and I liked playing around with the different boons to try new builds.

The art-style, characters, and dialogue are all also chef's kiss.

Not sure what else there is to say. Other than I can't wait for the sequel.

If this game has million fans, then I'm one of them.
If this game has one fan, then I'm THAT ONE.
If this game has no fans, that means I'm dead.

In all serious though, this might be my favorite game of all time. It's certainly one of the games I've sunk the most hours into. I have played all of the routes (some multiple times) as well as the DLC.

This was my first Fire Emblem game so I had no idea what to expect but I found the battle gameplay to be super fun and rewarding, but not so punishingly hard that it was frustrating. I loved the teaching mechanics, and getting to choose a plan to grow your units, it was fun on later runs to play around with the classes for your units and chose ones that weren't the obvious pick.

The story was very engaging, but really the stand out to me of this game is the characters and their relationships with both the player character and each other. They are all so unique and fully formed, and it's a joy watching them interact with each other and grow as the story progresses. The entire social link system was extremely impressive, the only way they could have improved it for me would be if they had literally every possible combinations of characters able to have a social link. (Though I understand why that's not practical).

That's all I'm going to say or I'd go on and on and on for hours. This game slaps.
