Total disappointment. The story is 100% nonsense and very badly told. Some maps are bs and more confusing than they need to be, and some are hard to see (Shinagawa).
Some designs (namely Amanozako & Demeter) feel like pedo bait, ngl. One of them even claims to be the player's soul mate 🤢🤢
Out of the few characters, the most interesting one is the first to die... and you cannot do anything to save that npc. That should tell you how good the other characters are.
The gameplay loop itself is enjoyable (barring some annoying boss fights), the 3D models looks awesome and the music is neat. Shame about everything else.
I might go for the other three endings eventually, but im in no rush.

The turn the story took made me drop the whole series. Nope, never touching another anime game written by a writer without sibilings.

This game is among the best games on the 3ds. Amazing production values, great songs, a long and engaging story (i loved having two protagonists), a lot of new and interesting Yokai, and a truckload of things to do. You're in postgame and they keep throwing new minigames and mechanics at you, it's very cool.

Im not into srpgs sadly, but i keep playing for the crumbs of dq10 localization and character interactions.
This game is crack.
Very nice little game with great replayability. The gameplay is a bit simple and it controls weird on PS4/Vita (Triangle to attack... who tf did this?) but overall very pleasing surprise.
Good game but for the love of god, do not try to 100% it. The required grindind for doing so will make you go insane,

Top tier JRPG. Great cast, story, gameplay, graphics, side content, etc. The only bad thing about it are some questionable sidequest design and two songs. The rest is all really good. The new QoL in this rerelease make the original version obsolete.
Due to it's meaty demo, this is 100% the place to start if you want to get into the DQ series.
