i don't know why i didn't play this game sooner because it's an absolute banger. amazing combat, story, music, AND funny cutscenes on-par with no more heroes?

no i didn't learn how to parry until halfway through the game when monsoon's fight forced me to and yes my steam playtime is almost double that of my save file because i kept getting pwned but that doesn't make me love this game any less

"I said my sword was a tool of justice... Not used in anger. Not used for vengeance. But now... I'm not so sure. And besides... This isn't my sword."

this game absolutely FUCKS.

the crazy thing about this game is that you start in a little room rolling up teacups and pizzas and shit and you go "oh this is a funny little game" and by the end you're rolling up entire cities full of real people into a planet-sized ball

this is actually the first video game ever made where you play as the villain. it also features the most realistic portrayal of japan in media to this day

this game is an absolute banger and feels like a true return to form for modern games. it's so fucking fun and unapologetically itself. i know that's broad and generic but this game FUUUUUUCKS!! it filled my soul with goodness and joy

just about everything here is perfect- the music, characters, cutscenes, story oooooOOOOoooHhhHhh baby
it gives me a giddiness similar to no more heroes except my wife wouldn't divorce me if i let our firstborn son play it in middle school

speaking of which (my wife), the middle of the game does drag a bit in terms of level variety and throughout the entire game a lot of the non-combat segments didn't feel particularly exceptional, but they're still pretty neat! the visual details, creative and unique dialogue, and fun little easter eggs more than make up for this

i don't mind the lack of lock-on as much as other people do but i obviously would rather have it be in the game than not. for the most part it only really bothered me when peppermint's charge attack wouldn't aim for an enemy with a shield; regardless this is something i think they should absolutely add in an update

not having any sort of checkpoint select in the post-game is annoying and is discouraging me from going back to unlock the true ending but i love this game so much that i will probably do it juuuuust not right away i gotta go wash my bedroom door. also NO BOSS RUSH?!!! or BOSS SELECT!?! god dammit the bosses in this game are so rad i am holding out hope that they add any sort of boss mode in an update

i can hardly call the "worst" parts of this game bad and they're somehow better than a lot of the "best" parts of some of the most critically-acclaimed and well-sold games in the past few years

so yeah i don't have a particularly unique opinion on this game because like every other sane person is saying, the good parts are top-tier and the not-so-good bits are ridiculously outweighed by the great stuff here. this game didn't need a pre-release marketing campaign because the game IS the campaign. so much passion and love has been put into this absolute gem and a sequel to it is now my most anticipated unannounced game only second to pokepark 3 (please)

this amazing game is such a unique experience and an absolute must-fucking-play. go buy it now BUY NOW!!!!

the ladies love terraria and i love terraria what more can i say

sweet mother of balls what can i say about this game that hasn't been said already

i suck ass at Fighting Games! i've only ever gotten into smash bros which well. You know
my point is that guilty gear strive is the first fighting game i've played a significant amount of whose status as a fighting game is not constantly questioned by the FGC

this game FUCKS. and when i say a game fucks that means it fucks. i understand why a lot of folks don't like the lack of mechanics in strive compared to previous titles in the series but boy does it feel good to be able to confidently and consistently use all the mechanics in a fighting game for once.
roman cancel funny burst DUST ATTACK!! ooh this is a good-ass game

for once i actually stand a chance online and yes the rumors are true im the #1 ranked player in the world

strive is so fun to play, look at, and listen to that even when im sitting out on the town eating a burger i find myself thinking about pulling off some funny may combos

the online is often a bit unreliable (albeit perfectly fine once you enter a match) and i wish there was another singleplayer mode but yeah. game fucks

i love the visuals and the concept of this sorta game is great but a lot of the levels were a bit too easy/repetitive for my liking and despite this being a relatively short game i felt like it dragged on because of that.
my main gripe is that there's little room for creativity when it comes to solving each level even though this is a Lego Game

unfinished because on one of the last few levels my framerate suddenly went to hell and i don't feel like going through another 2-layered level at that pace.
i would love to see another game like this in the future though!

before i just talked about the multiplayer but i finally got around to completing all of the story mode except for after alterna. this campaign was pretty fun! it kept me engaged for most of it and i love how all collectibles are in the overworld now. there are a lot of fun levels but some are absolute Buttfuck and the bosses are kinda lame. however! the final boss sequence was awesome ...but this is still your run-of-the-mill splatoon campaign. i know we weren't promised anything of the sort but the initial teaser for the campaign made it seem like we weren't just going to get the same weird floating disconnected levels from the past three (3) campaigns. i don't necessarily want splatoon to go ""Open World"" but i just want something different, man! also it took me way too long to realize that the platforming sucks balls in this series

the multiplayer is plagued by overly tedious leveling progression, worthless updates, a terrible communication system, and a lack of entertaining, new, or interesting content, making this one of the most disappointing and frustrating games i've ever played.
the online infrastructure is embarrassingly archaic and what's crazy is that all of the aforementioned problems and more have been present since the first game was released in checks notes 2015.

it's a shame because there's so much potential in splatoon but nahhh lets just add an old map and weapon here and there and have a pisspoor event every few months. Man

fuck this shitass game im gonna go hit the griddy gangnam style on fortnite now

gator? i hardly even know her!

thought-provoking and inspirational

holy shit this game fucks

PLAY THIS ONE!!
i wanted to scratch that gen 4 itch but i didn't want to play (let alone buy) BDSP so here i am. and man this is so fucking awesome. great mod that is literally just the renegade platinum mod from the DS version + more
i still couldn't get over how shit BDSP is as a base for this game but having challenging and interesting battles was so welcome. Fuck yes

(dropped right before the elite four because of burnout but this is still real good)

forgot i played this until i beat violet lol..

left off right before the elite four and i don't see myself coming back but im basically done soooo
this game is the biggest kick in the balls ever!! i was so excited for sinnoh remakes and Bam.
its the same exact game yet it looks worse and is stripped of Platinum Content. yeah the grand underground is there but it feels like that was squeezed into the game the same way smash bros tosses in clones at the end of development except it stinks

in a vacuum this game isn't that bad but im kinda sick of having to look at this series that way in order to not absolutely despise the games

just gonna dump my not-so-organized thoughts here about my experience, enjoy!

most importantly, the core gameplay! maaaan.
even if the game consistently runs at 30 fps, which it never does, what the hell is there to do here? catch pokemon? like that's it? oh and battle pokemon too? okay. the mount is pretty funny but also kinda jank.

the worst offender here is the overworld encounter system. im so glad that random encounters are gone but jesus christ the let's go (more like let's eat BUTT) mechanic is so fucked. who cares though! i didn't even use it (due in part to its jankiness) but i did toss my pokemon at wild pokemon to start battles! and god this is so shitty. i dont know why they didn't just copy and paste the throwing from PLA without including the dodge roll and player damage.

there are absolutely no landmarks within the """open world""" and it looks like absolute butts mcgee. pop-in is everywhere and even during battle textures aren't fully loaded in.

the region has no cohesion whatsoever, it feels like the towns and bases were just randomly scattered across the map, with minimal distinction between named and generic areas being present. also WHY DO THE ONLY ACCESSIBLE BUILDINGS JUST SELL FOOD !!!

i could do without level-scaling if there was some sense of togetherness here but its just so weird. i did use a guide for what order to go through everything in and while i do like the idea of perhaps just swapping out teams to avoid steamrolling gyms i think that that sort of style more suits games like SMT. of course its probably fun but the battles are still piss-easy so would it really change much?

battles Oh Yeah!! the battles are slow as balls! this is especially embarrassing since this game CAME OUT AFTER LEGENDS ARCEUS!! ...which sped up battles to near-perfection. having bellibolt on my team made me want to blow my brains out because even if it fainted from an attack the game STILL had to show me the ability charge prompt. this is 100x worse when being attacked by multi-hit moves (which were streamlined in arceus)

im not expecting persona 5-level variety here but if the traversal, combat, or story (just one element!!) were notably good they could carry the game, i.e., mystery dungeon story and combat are interesting and challenging so i genuinely want to keep playing, whereas with this lump of doodoo i just kept going because i hate myself

also theres some nice QOL stuff in here but they also removed some stuff from previous games like battle styles so uh.

i gotta say, some of the music is absolutely amazing (shoutout toby focks) and i do like some of the characters but the lack of voice acting makes every moment So Awkward. whether they're supposed to be exciting, sad, or scary, the cutscenes feel like some odd parody material because you just see lips flapping and hear no speaking. also yes they made another gym leader who sings/raps. Uh huh.

terastillization is actually pretty neat but i avoided using it due to the game already being pretty easy. also the elite four only have 5 pokemon and the champion has a stupidly inverted team with a cool new awesome guy that gets attack boosts for each pokemon fainted on the player's team but her final pokemon is a hazard setter. what were they thinking

this game has a handful of funny critters and i convinced myself that it'd be worth slogging through it to see them through my own experience but once i performed a self-imposed psy-op and spoiled the remaining ones for myself i truly realized there was nothing else of much appeal to me here.

speaking of funny critters, paradox pokemon! man this concept is so cool. if only the scope of the game allowed them to be as awesome as they actually should be. man. but its not, so at least the designs are pretty rad, right? i am Objectively Correct here in saying that the future designs are doodoo. except for iron valiant holy shit that fucks. a gardevoir-gallade fusion that's also reminscent of their megas?? why aren't most or all of the future pokemon fusions? like they dont even have to be related just make up a cool backstory as to why this oh-so "Mad Scientist" thought itd be cool and useful to fuse crustle and golbat.

the fact that you can only obtain the other game's mons through trading makes them so lame. people act like its cool but you just call up a friend and sit there spamming a to trade x amount of pokemon, taking away the coolness. imagine if dual versions didn't exist and there was just one game where you get to encounter both future and past pokemon. like even if they just copy+paste mashed the current games together that'd be better but it'd still kinda stink because aside from the critters being different its the exact same rigamarole

yeah that's it there is no feasible way mainline pokemon can be Actually Good unless the size of the dev team is like quintupled and/or the release cycle is totally overhauled.

but i think this is just how the games are gonna be so i must say! i have come to terms with the fact that i Don't Actually Like Pokemon. and that's chill

any dudunsparce fans in the chat??

TL;DR, game sucks eggs im gonna go play fortnite now

this game is very silly and funny and fun. i love peggle and pegging and goblins and roguelikes so this is a good one for a Guy like me.

its a bit short right now and i feel like i got the hang of it and beat it super quickly, which feels weird for this genre but isn't necessarily bad, but i have confidence that the game will continue to improve even more throughout (and after?) early access. the recent addition of Moneys and stuff changed everything!

despite that, the core gameplay loop is pretty great and i just really like this game Man. its chill and fun and scratches that Peggle Itch but it definitely feels like it ends too soon right now and that a Thing or two is missing. i don't regret my purchase one bit and am looking forward to this being my go-to laptop game for ignoring lectures in my last semester of college.
