humour wasn't my cup of tea, Delilah is far too nosy and the names of all the people I never met were hard to remember so towards the end it just got more and more confusing.
gameplay wise there is not much to say, there are so many invisible borders that annoy you I am happy there are games like Zelda Breath of the Wild that show you what is actually possible.

My childhood memory.
The frane rate when enemies are in the level is hard…fun game still!

Metroid Fusion was my favourite game on GBA and since then I can call myself a Metroid fanboy. Oddly enough, Metroid Prime was in a weird spot for me and when the first DS came out, the franchise was in a rough spot after Pinball and Hunters. Finally, Samus Aran is back in a worthy, full fledged sequel.

There is an article how developer MercurySteam cut out some staff in the credits, although working on the title. The same article also stated they had planned the double amount of cutscenes and content, but this got cut by Nintendo, maybe in order to tighten the game overall, who knows. While overall I think the game is exactly in the spot it should be, I cannot acknowledge the practices of the game developer or publisher.

I love how they succeed in making a very fluent action game with Alien (Isolation) 80s Sci-Fi like atmosphere. The encouters with E.M.M.I are engaging, but you have to see a lot of Game Over screens. Fortunately, it's not like pure "trial and error" like Little Nightmares (which I detested for that aspect) because the E.M.M.I move always differently.
The game delivers in the aspect that it is a Sci-Fi "horror light" action game with very slight nods to Dead Space, Alien: Isolation and also some Bullet Hell shooters and still is a Metroid game in it's core mechanics.

There are 2 aspects I don't like:
- While the overall performance is nice (60 fps with only some frame drops), the art style is something I had to get used to. The Switch is not powerful so I can see why there is no Anti-Aliasing or low textures, but a better, less bloomy art style might have been more fitting. It could have been much darker, less colourful in my opinion. Or even much more towards Hollow Knight with a much deeper art style. But maybe this is the most 'mature' a Nintendo IP might get.
- The controls. The option to use the D-Pad could have been much better. The laser pointer beam mechanics can be very tricky because they are too exact. I would've liked to use a shoulder button to do a diagonal shot only and implement it in the game. In addition to that, the controls can be overloaded, especially when you get all the items with Shinespark. But hey, this is also a nod to Super Metroid, they also had very tricky item spots. The analog stick is just too hit-and-miss.

Verdict: well done and thanks for the Special Edition!

It's a perfect gem. If you haven't played this yet, stop reading or gathering information and play it yourself!

This review contains spoilers

While the first one is a genuinely crafted gem, this one tries to expand on the puzzle and timelapse mechanism. It does so in a very nice way, but there are some things I have to address. One of them are the stealth parts. The second is the lack of a language, as I loved the written stories to expand the depth. Only giving you pictures to stitch the story together was a nice try, but I would've liked some text better.

Should you try it? Yes, definitely, if you loved the main game!

It's the best title, I always felt it. Sorry Ron Gilbert.
The first one, ok this sets the whole franchise. The second one, too many clunky puzzles I cannot wrap my head around. The third one, oh boy I have played through this so many times and it is still hilarious.
The Art Style is best and only needs some polish.
Give me a 4k Remaster pls! And Disney, sell the Franchise to Ron Gilbert.

PS: Pirates of the Carribean is a knockoff.

Art Style: Oh no(pon), this was a hard turn off
Main Story: Interesting enough
Side Stories/Quests: This quickly turned into a "how fast can I skip the dialogue" challenge
Fighting System: engaging, although depends a lot on which character you played.
Endgame: Made it to LVL99 and played through DLC, Maxed Colony 6 and finished all side quests I can find. Tried some of the 5 "super bosses" but honestly, this is a bit too lame.

Verdict: It gave me some vanilla WoW vibes without making me too addicted, as this is an offline experience and time is well spent. The world is big and you can enjoy the game, even if you're not searching your next waifu or a reaally annoying species trying to sound "cute". Oh yeah and the fighting voices...turn that off asap.

To make it short: Guybrush in the costume is the best one, but it has too many confusing puzzles.

This one is all about atmosphere. First two hours were like 'story okay, I like stealthy games but the gameplay held me back a bit'. But I got sucked in, they had really nice ideas and the music as well as the direction hit hard.

+ Classic and one of the best Point'n'Clicks.
+ Special Edition nice, especially direct switch to OG possible
- Guybrush and other character's art style questionable (background art style is good)
- Item/Action menu in SE version very clunky, there are better systems out there (MI3, Daedelic Adventures)
- Option for Dialogue Sounds in OG version would be close to perfect (there is a tweak out there).

meh. atmosphere good, but game wise very lackluster. enemies very random patterns. some good jumpscares and some nice story, but that's about it. and I always had to scale my display to 100% so I could play full screen, very annoying and showed the game's age.

I played this on a LAN Party in mid 2000 and found this game recently. I love the minimalistic approach and the whole survival craft logic around it. Glad I found it again. There is even an indie dev who updated the game and I think there's even an Android port available. Check it out

The music and the story makes it so compelling. It's so charming. And the music....I could just listen to the soundtrack all day.

Gaming wise it is quite shallow. Growing just the one plant type you need, the whole encyclopedia is deep but to be honest not really needed.

Played blind with Jill, have only seen the PSX original at a friend's house being young and played RE4 and RE2 remake.
I have to say the game is so good, has so much charm, nice puzzles and the story is just nicely over the top that I realize what a big impact it must have been when it came out. The rendering backgrounds were really good for it's age, I'm still impressed. Glad they improved the movement.
I "enjoyed" the different enemies and the overall pacing of the game, only thing I don't think implemented well is the aiming.

High replayability, might hunt achievements.
And now a Remake like RE2/3 pls Capcom!
