Overall, a great idea for a game. There's no real combat, some light platforming of sorts, and a lot of puzzle-solving. The visuals are pretty (even though I played this 4 years from release) and the use of sound (and lack thereof when you're outside) is really good.

I did get stuck a few times through my own fault, but there was some consistent, nagging jank/bugs that I encountered during my play through that kept this from being rated 4 stars. Regardless, I'm now looking forward to the sequel, Deliver Us Mars.

A good little action-platformer that was possibly overshadowed by the shiny, new Super Nintendo and the lack of attention for NES games that brought with it.

I found this game incredibly creative in its platforming ideas. The overall theme of being shrunken down provides a decent foundation for the levels and worlds, but the developers really warp and expand on the idea every time.

The actual writing and characterization within the story is honestly dreadful and kept it from being rated a full 5 stars. My brother and I did not enjoy the two main characters and found the story itself a little meandering and flimsy. We effectively skimmed through it as we wanted to play more levels.

The cooperative aspect in this game is also done very well. It is definitely an improvement over their last game, A Way Out, which I also played with my brother. Fundamentally, the cooperative platforming gameplay in this game is fantastic and I would say, it rivals Nintendo quality. Unfortunately, the game is bogged down by a very odd and distracting story that really says nothing in the end. If they had managed an effective narrative about relationships, divorce, family, and love on top of the platforming, this game would be something very special. But they do not. Feel free to skip the cut scenes if you want, you are not missing very much.

An excellent beat-em-up that remains a high-point of the genre.

A throwback game in the style of 16-bit furry mascot platformers from the 90s. If I attempt to describe the recipe for this game, I'd say it's a mishmash of Gunstar Heroes, Kirby, Sonic, and Mario.

There's elements of each in this game and you would think that'd be more interesting than it is. There's some difficulty spikes here and there and definitely toward the end, but it's not overwhelming. I didn't enjoy the quippy dialogue in this either, but for those that enjoy Borderlands-esque humor, you'll enjoy it. And finally, it's mad short. Not usually a detriment to games for me, but I beat this in a sitting and a half. I don't feel like the gameplay was exceptionally varied throughout which made it feel repetitive.

Typing this the day after I beat it, I'd say the experience isn't memorable. The first couple of memories that do come to mind are the cons and not the pros. Still, if you're into playing whatever on a Saturday afternoon, then go ahead and give it a shot. Just take note of the caveats.

A great retro-style action platformer game. Huge kudos to MekaSkull, the sole developer on this project. Cyber Shadow expects you to retain the techniques you learn over the course of the game. The game builds you up and pushes you to keep those skills sharp. If you can't keep up, you perish. Recommended if you're ready to get into a game like that. Cyber Shadow also has a special place in my heart because it was the first "let's play" I ever did on my gaming channel. Good memories.

One of the best in its class. There's a reason so many games in the genre have been influenced by it.

Not entirely sure why some are calling this a beat-em-up. This is more of an action-platformer. The game will switch between each of the 4 characters having their own levels and sharing 1 level between them.

Overall, a good game, a little unforgiving at times for my taste, but the music from Beast's initial level makes up for it. Certified banger.

My favorite game of all time. I understand that Super Mario World is a better Mario game overall and improves upon many concepts outlined in this game... But I still love this game more.

A fantastic showcase of the genre. A great homage to the games that inspired it and a modern classic all the same. With 3 other friends, this game is always a fun time.

A masterpiece of remakes that brought an insane collection to everyone that played it. Every single game could have been sold on its own and this game brought 4 of the best platformers of all time together, remade and remastered with modern graphics/sound. I highly doubt a similar game will ever be made again for any other franchise.

A decent fighter that could have been much, much worse in terms of quality.

I remember trying to play this and not getting super far at all. I tried to play it recently and I just don't feel dedicated enough to try and figure it out.

Completely impenetrable for me as a youth and just as impenetrable as an adult man. I do not know the rules of American football beyond a cursory understanding. So... besides that, the game seemed fine, but I can't speak on its accuracy of the sport.

I still have nostalgia for it though. The sound clips from the game bring back memories of being completely out of my element as a kid, but keeping at it in hopes that I'd get it someday.

One of the greatest platform-fighters of all time.
