BEEP
The more you are familiar with the Witness, the more jokes in this game click, which leads to the conclusion that the creator has really good understanding about all details in the orignal game. A 5/5 Witness parody game.

A handmade minesweeper game with 100+ levels and lots of challenge. I love the fact that each step can be (and should be) proved correct. No randomness and no guess needed. Pure logic works.

I feel mixed about this game. It did an excellent job for broad audience, with huge amount of adorable, well-polished content. You feel "there is always more than you think", and I did really enjoy it when I was playing. The problem is, after I played it, I noticed how things get repetitive, predictable, conservative and stay in a surface level of charm. It lacks some imagination and creativity in depth, which 64/Galaxy1&2 did have more.

TOO MANY DIALOGS due to the exponetial nature of hyperbolic geometry.
(tbh, the biggest challenge for designers is to come up with enough meaningful gameplay to fit the size of this hyperbolic world. And this game ended up filling tons of superficial "gameplay" just like those dialogs.)

Got immersed into the aesthetic of this game. Excellent world building that captures the sense of fun, wonder and mystery as Super Mario 64 / Ocarina of Time, although it is more a walking simulator/adventure game than a platformer/action game.

Despite awkward camera and limited amount of content due to its age, Super Mario 64 is still the best in 3D Mario serires at balancing the sense of adventure, freedom and progress. It is full of imaginative ideas compressed into compact areas, and the Peach Castle is just an excellent hub area with great sense of wonder.

This is the example of how tons of creative ideas are merged into a vivid system where everything interconnects with harmony, being a world as a whole.

This is the example of how initial ideas grow out to be a giant tree with countless elegant and dazzling branches, and finally become a world as a whole.

A classic of weird metroidvanias. Despite being too awkward and meaningless in some clues/solutions, the structure of the whole Mulana world is one of the most elegant design I have ever seen in a video game. Also, the soundtrack is just PHENOMENAL.

One of the most convoluted Metroidvanias I have ever played. The Eternal Prison, as the central area in late-game, is just so memorable not only in its own mechanics and atmosphere, but also in how it connects the clues, areas, characters and lores of the whole game.

There is little exploration in Exo One, and it is quite linear. Despite this, I feel a strong sense of freedom - the freedom to choose and perform any kind of flight you want to take through the route. Speedrunners go for the fastest way. Casual gamers go for a relaxing one. And I am obsessed in finding the most elegant and lovely way to complete the journey.
