nostalgia glasses broke when i started playing, i dont like this game

you've probably heard it all before what a masterpiece this game is, but words are hard to describe how great this game and it's story telling and the emotions i felt when i first played this game. i think its one of the best games i've played, the story and it's decision making are brilliant and play really well with the zombie genre. it plays on the idea when watching a show (specifically zombies based shows) you're like "i would do this instead" and allows you to have all power to make those decisions, and incredibly enough those decisions are so well thought out that i could talk about it all day.
honestly, even if you're not a fan of choose your own adventure games, the zombie genre, the walking dead franchise, or whatever, this game is a masterpiece in story telling, definitely a must play.

strong dialogue, beautiful visuals and a small tint of mystery. its a lovely game

This is first time in a while I've really enjoyed a single player game and thought about constantly after the game has finished. I think if you really enjoy RPG maker games from back in the day, this will probably itch that niche and you'll really enjoy this game. I do not think this game is for everyone however.

My main issues were the battle system and pacing.
It's not bad, it works as well as it needs to but I think the game would have done better without a battle system.
For a game focusing a lot on the story and it's world and characters, it slows down and take you away from the immersion by making you fight monsters, which really don't take much thought most of the time. There may be fun in finding optimal or different ways to fight, but there is no real incentive to do so maybe other than achievements or your own curiosity. I do however appreciate the optional boss fights, gives you a reason to test your skill, use the items and experiment with the vast abilities/mechanics to mix and match in the game.
The fact that Undertale exists shows how far we've come in story driven RPG games (as much as I hate to compare). It probably mostly just has to do with RPG Maker and it's simple and by the books engine, this game just leaves a lot to be desired sometimes, it doesn't try much innovative with it's RPG system (mostly talking about the night time segments). Other than the interactions between each character during gameplay, but those don't end up being that interesting. "Why not just remove the RPG system?" is what was on my mind constantly throughout the game. Maybe the game wasn't as interesting otherwise but it seemed to do just as good without it during the day time. I however understand why it may have been needed, to contrast it's mechanics during the morning time, which I honestly really liked how they implemented. It however doesn't change the fact that it's uninteresting and monotonous during the night time.
Sometimes story pacing was an issue. There were a few sections in the game that felt like a drag. -(I think it was after day 3 after they finish the casino) I would just skip dialogue and fights just to get through faster, because most of it didn't really seem to matter and felt like mindless filler. Maybe if I had patience or if the game was more interesting I would have enjoyed these sections. Like, the game has it's great sections that completely drain you mentally, so there always has to be a follow up section that allows you to breathe and come back up for air. Some of these sections are fine, but sometimes it's way too long and drawn out that it takes away from the experience.

TL;DR
I only recommend this game if you enjoy RPG maker games and want to enjoy a really strong story with incredible RPGMaker visuals. I mostly only talked bad about this game and that's mainly because it's better if you go in blind and experience it yourself, it's so much better that way.

the aesthetic is super stylish and music feels nostalgic. you can really tell they put in a lot of love and effort into this game. definitely an experience worth trying out (i mean it's free!)

its a classic fighting game. from it's painstakingly incredible visuals to it's tight gameplay. it feels like the perfect street fighter game that balances both footsies and zoning with its responsive and tight controls, and rushdown with it's fast pace, and the plethora of options available for engaging. and of couse the universal parry which opens up a whole other level of defence and offense (one of the main reasons i love this game). its a game i'll always enjoy going back to and to watch competitively, i could go on all day. the community is also wonderful, especially on fightcade.

to preface, this is the first fighting game i've put a lot of time into competitively rather than just for fun, i've played 200+ hours of this game, actively joined tournaments, host my own tournaments, play a lot with friends and with randoms and reached VIP in oce. i will only talk about gameplay, because thats all i care about in this game.

the game is great. having played a lot of xrd and some of accent core in preparation for this game's release, not quite what i expected but was pleasantly surprised. theres a good balance between accessibility and freedom of expression, and is great for new frogs or people moving from different games. the balance in this game is tight, and you can tell arcsys really knows what their doing and knows what they want, especially after the releases of jack-o and gold lewis, arcsys games age like fine wine so i have high hopes for this game. theres not much i feel the need to go into that aren't just nitpicks, its honestly the best fighting game to come out in recent history and would 100% recommend for those wanting to get into the game competitively.

spine-chilling and incredibly intense. its a short experience, but with solid world building and scares. definitely worth a check

modern classic in the platforming genre

i'm impartial to this game. i don't know whether to love it or hate it. i think there are definitely some really strong story beats, fun character interactions and decisions that feel impactful, forcing you to reflect on your actions, almost Telltale-esque. also has an interesting set-piece.
and then theres some really poorly paced moments, painfully annoying characters and just poor polish and quality assurance.
i think if you can get past all the bad in this game, it has the potential to be a beautiful experience

it has the worst learning curve of any fighting game but is incredibly fun with an excessive amount of specific situations and hyper situational rock paper scissors to lab out and cool combos. i do not recommend unless you want to make tekken your personality and dont plan to play other fighting games

i have spent countless hours, played over the many years since it's launch and whenever i come back to this game i always have an amazing experience, be it alone or with friends. this game is timeless and is possibly one of the greatest games to ever be conceived. i could honestly go on all day about the small details, but you've heard it all before. i just know that this game is the epitome of fun.

i haven't loved and been frustrated and restless over a puzzle game in a good while and this game definitely scratched that puzzle game itch. its super unique and charming, plus it has community levels. whats not to love about this game, its great!

i remember seeing the commercial for this game when it came out; seeing mario in space, and wow he can turn into a bee and he can fling between planets??! i immediately knew this game was for me. i got the game next christmas as a gift and it was the best thing i could ever ask for. this game has a soft spot in my heart from its beautiful, spacey atmosphere, the awe-inspiring music, the vast amount of worlds to travel to and fro and just the whole space theme. this game fed my imagination. i loved it a lot, and it shaped my childhood.

i've come back to this game after those years and i still think what i loved about this game is still holds up. i have nothing to add to it, its just simply a fun platformer with a million ideas to keep things fresh. however i do think the over abundance of ideas and the non-distinct theme throughout levels can be a turn off, but thats what this game does best. this game is a masterpiece in my eyes and will continue to be my favourite mario game.

so many references in the characters, jokes, set pieces and humour that i don't really get, and strangely tacked on "dating/friendship" segments feel so surreal. the "check literally everything" rpg playstyle seems like the best way to enjoy this game, but i really don't have the patience for that anymore. when this game came out i really wanted to enjoy it. i was a huge fan of undertale when it came out when i was in highschool and now im nearly about to graduate uni but i feel indifferent to this game. i dont know why, could be a lot of things. this game has a lot of passion that oozes fun ideas and jokes in it's gameplay, story and world building and i can appreciate it, but i feel like its not for me anymore, as much as i want to love it.
