I am judging this game entirely on its current state. Put the PR debacle at release aside and this game is an absolute masterpiece. It's the most authentic and complete Star Wars experience in gaming ever. It's a huge upgrade over the first. And it's an absolute blast. The multiplayer is so fun and immersive and varied and addicting. And it looks absolutely gorgeous. I know this game got a ton of shit on release but it's damn near perfect now.

Listen. This game is objectively terrible. The environments are bland and uninteresting. The level design is uninspired. The shooting is boring. The enemies aren't challenging. The voice acting is weak. The graphics are dated. The main character is stupid and cliché. But it has dinosaurs and an easy platinum so 2 stars for that alone.

It's also derivative of the Jurassic Park series in so many ways. Which is odd since a Jurassic Park movie hadn't come out in nearly a decade at this point. The recent turok game wasn't a huge success. People weren't clamoring for more dinosaur action in 2009 so why did this get made? Maybe they were just trying to capitalize on an open market with little competition. There's also sections where the game rips off CoD Zombies. Just bizarre.

The gameplay, environment, adrenaline mechanic, level design, nearly everything from this game reminds me of Haze so much. It's basically Haze but with Dinosaurs. It feels very 2006 or 2007. By 2009 this game was already dated.

If I had to say one good thing about this game it's that the dinosaur character models look pretty good anyways. They have some nice textures and colors to them that help bring the creatures to life.

Well here's the polish I was looking for in the previous installment. Problem is this game is insultingly short. I remember being super disappointed about that the first time I played this game about 10 years ago.

The gameplay is much more fun this time around. It plays and controls better and the difficulty is much more manageable. I like the added and improved abilities. However the levels and environments are not varied enough and feel really lazy. The story is weak. The boss fights are my least favorite video game boss fight clichés. It's super disappointing in so many areas.

However, this game looks impressive though. It looks fucking great for 2010. I'd love to know what happened in development. It clearly had to have been rushed and they focused all their time and energy in the graphics.

It's disappointing, but still fun. Looks great. Solid voice acting. Great music and sound. Some fun side challenges after you beat the game. It has no excuse for falling short and I'm not as nostalgic for this one so it doesn't get rated as highly as the first.

I have a lot of nostalgia for this game and I have to say it absolutely holds up. It's technically ahead of so much of the stuff that was coming out at the time. The physics, graphics, textures, environments, backgrounds, lighting, color, sound, music, and voice acting are all top notch. It's the only game that really makes me feel like an OP jedi/sith. Jedi Fallen Order is great for what it is, but I much prefer this style. I love the amount of variation with moves. You can get really creative for how you approach every level and enemy. It's so fun to play around with. That combined with the tons of different enemies keep it fresh the whole run. The levels are very distinct from one another and doesn't feel like you're retreading the same ground.

The story feels like it fits very naturally within the star wars lore. At least it did when it came out. This isn't canon and maybe it never was but it feels like it fits so much better than any of the new movies do. It's a perfect balance and connection of the prequels and original trilogy.

My only complaints is that the boss fight designs are completely whack. Sith master is a bit too hard of a difficulty. It felt like I had to find an exploit or glitch to win at times rather than master all of my moves. The game could have used just a bit more polish and it would have been a solid 10/10 for me.

2012

Grading on the movie game curve Brave isn't terrible. It's not good, but it's a decent little platformer/twin sticks shooter. It looks like absolute crap for a game from 2012 but it plays well and is fun enough.

It feels like an indie 3rd party game you might get for free on ps plus for ps4 but is actually a movie tie in for one of the biggest companies in the world.

It also has a couple of the most frustrating boss fights I've ever encounted in my entire gaming career. I'm nearly 31 years old and have been gaming as long as I can remember. Why the hell did they make a game based off a disney princess kid's movie this freaking hard? It's insane. Terrible game design. I had to replay a few levels in order to buy a few upgrades before I could beat the final boss. Even on the hardest difficulty you should be able to naturally progress through an entire game. Ridiculous.

Besides that I didn't have any major complaints. It's just a simple little game that does It's job well enough. A fairly quick plat too.

With baseball season in full swing I had to revisit this for some nostalgia. Absolutely love the field creator tool and that will never be boring. The college re-skin is a pure gimmick and doesn't fundamentally change the game much from it's professional predecessor. But 06 revitalized the swing mechanics by introducing the analog swing system. For sports games it was pretty innovative when they're usually content to remain stagnant. This holds up and is still fun even if it plays much more arcade-y than what they were originally intending. Also it has one of the best soundtracks for a sports game ever. Love it. I'm 16 again.

This is my absolute least favorite version of Deadpool. The Danny Way "lol I'm so random and quirky" Deadpool is absolutely insufferable. That said this is my favorite type of gameplay. Hack and slash with 3rd person shooter elements always plays well with me. It has a ton of combos and a multitude of weapons to select from. Good level design. Plenty of enemy variation. It's challenging but never that difficult. It's never boring. There's a major frame rate drop issue on the ps4 remaster but it's an easy fix by disconnecting from internet. Even though I platted this game twice, once on ps3 and once on ps4, I'm still annoyed by the trophy list. Too many level specific trophies and not enough combat related ones. Give me Joe Kelly Deadpool and a better story, a better trophy list, and fix the frame rate drop and this would be a 5 star game.

This was the first game I ever had for my ps3 way back in Nov of 2007. It was unplayable. I remember it for being so terrible I still recognize it as one of the top 5 worst games I've ever played. It's a toss up between this and Walking Dead survival instinct for that number 1 spot. Thank God for Resistance: Fall of Man, the 2nd ps3 title I ever owned, for saving my initial ps3 experience.

I played this a few years ago. I just wanted to rate something 1.5 stars for the first time. This is better than Watchmen I think but worse than Generator Rex so it felt like it fit. This is one of the worst games I've ever played. Avoid at all costs.

Currently playing through this on ps4. I was annoyed that I couldn't get the platinum on ps3 due to multi player having been shut down. It's like an itch that I can't scratch when it's impossible to Plat a game. So not even 5 minutes into the first level I notice really bad glitches. NPCs will run into the walls and get stuck. That never happened to me once on ps3. But the facial animations and graphics are way better. Feels like the character moves more smoothly and the lips actually match the words this time around. I had a horrible audio delay during my ps3 run but maybe that's just my set up. Regardless it feels way better here on remastered version. Also the frame rate is better. So I guess it's a wash. A few more bugs for way better graphics and an obtainable Plat. Feels like it deserves the same rating as original game. Also I forgot to mention in my initial review that along with surprisingly good physics it also had a surprising amount of destructibility for a game from 2009. It was incredibly innovative and I'm still impressed by this game. Give Ghostbusters a go if you haven't yet.

Spider-Man ps4 doesn't reinvent the wheel. It does nothing that hadn't already been done in prior Spidey titles. It just brings together all the elements and does them so much better. It is the best Spider-Man title to date (I haven't played Miles Morales yet). And this is coming from someone who owns physical copies of every Spidey title from ps1-ps4 and has played them all.

It's a solid story with incredibly satisfying gameplay and just an all around blast.

Platinumed in October 2018. Played through DLC in June of 2019.

Ghostbusters 09 is a terrific game.

The story, script, and voice acting is phenomenal which makes this a worthy canonical Ghostbusters 3.

The visuals and graphics are incredible for 2009. The facial scans and animations look way better than they had any right to in 2009. In fact it looks so good that I went back and rated later games lower for their poor graphics in comparison. I loved the attention to detail on the proton packs. The textures and environments are pleasant to look at and the physics of this game work surprisingly well.

The gameplay is pretty simple. It's a 3rd person shooter where you move through fairly linear levels blasting through ghosts and entities along the way. You occasionally enter a first person mode to scan objects, collectibles, and enemies. There are a few simple puzzles to complete which just entails opening a door with your gun. But what makes it stand out is the four different weapons you can switch between on your proton pack that all have their individual purposes, alternate firing, and distinct feel. So you scan a ghost to reveal it's weakness then switch to the appropriate weapon to disperse or trap it. On casual mode it didn't feel like it mattered much and you could basically use any weapon you wanted. It's surprisingly well fleshed out gameplay with a bevy of varied enemies and a ton of expansion to the lore. The trapping system is maybe a bit needlessly convoluted but you could argue it's sophisticated and works well. I'm just really impressed they put forth so much effort into this title when they could have tried to just sell it on name recognition alone. Instead they made a really solid game.

My only complaint is that it needed a few more puzzles to complete. Something a bit more challenging and complex that required you to use all of your weapons. Or maybe a driving section. Driving the ecto-1 could have been fun. The characters even joke about letting the player drive it at one point.

Very small complaints in an otherwise terrific game.

An absolute blast. An easy and enjoyable Plat. I'm glad immersive, story driven, single player campaigns are making a comeback. I can't believe it took EA this long to finally make something like this for Star Wars.

At first I didn't really jive with the souls lite type gameplay, but once you master it, it's so satisfying. I like hack and slash a lot more than parry and dodge type games, but this one nailed the balance of challenging and rewarding. Some of those games are just too incredibly hard and frustrating.

It was a little janky at times and some of the platforming stuff, most notably the climbing sections, felt totally pointless. But otherwise this was a solid game and a solid entry into the star wars canon. It looks great and plays great. I highly anticipate a sequel.

It's fine. Campaign is pretty generic and boring. I can see how the destructability was next level stuff at the time. The multi-player is still alive and holds up surprisingly well. I can see how far ahead of it's time it was when it was first released. Of course they've since refined it and expanded upon it so it's been done better by now. But BF:BC2 is still pretty fun on multi-player and I can see how addicting this would have been on initial release.

played through this sometime between March and April of 2020. It's fine. I wish it could have been a bigger game on all the consoles but it's what prompted me to buy a switch. I really like the roster. Managing the crystals is a pain. I miss the fusions. The story wasn't as engaging as 2. But for some reason it was still pretty dang addicting. I think I played through it at least 3 times if not more.
