this is probably the peak of gameplay of Final Fantasy. FF1-6 might be old school hard, FF7-13 kinda braindead, however xiii-2 is perfect sweet spot of mashing auto battle and switching up strategies on the fly so you won't die in 2-3 AOE attacks to some mini bosses or even bosses.

kinda dog gameplay, stayed for story but the themes of the game is cartoon network tier of shit villans and characters are the same as in p5 but don't get additional development. pointless sequel and game made for people who have joker as their avatar on twitter or discord

truly is the zenith of JRPGs

I really thought I'd like it more before playing it because it looked super interesting to me, but the meme about it having no story or developed characters was actually too real.

One of the most enjoyable JRPG casts. Story isn't very deep but its well executed for a revenge story than current modern counter-parts.
Combat does get repetitive after a while but that can also be blamed on me by only playing Velvet and not giving anyone else a try.
I went in small expectations but came out pleasantly surprised, one of my favourite JRPGs, or at least top 10.

the final hour of the game is just a masterpiece

this game is so good but at the same time so shit. the only tragedy this game conveys is the amount of potential it would have for a full remake. however... as we all know.... square would NEVER.
