Best immersive atmosphere in an open world game with good smooth combat. Decent flexibility in its RPG systems gameplay wise but story wise falls flat in its narrative choices given which brings me to the writing. The writing in the base game leaves a lot more to be desired which is improved upon 10x by the DLC. Side content is mostly repetitive and not worth it.

Tedious and drab, this game incorporates soulslikes elements but misses the part where you need an engaging combat system to go along with it or else you’re just wasting the players time.

Once in a lifetime game thats even better the second time around when you understand the systems and whats expected. Easily one of the best RPGS made and possibly the best game of all time.
As soon as I heard it was the same map, I knew this was gonna be disappointing. Its basically BOTW + garys mod. It took them 6 years to add garys mod to an already existing map. Sure there’s some QOL changes, new enemies, yada yada but it’s not enough to justify a $70 price tag and a 6 year wait. Majora’s Mask did more in barely 2 years. Im sure it’s just as good as BOTW but I cant be asked to play the same game 2 times in a row. A new map, drastic change in tone, and additions that don’t feel like gimmicks would’ve compelled me to keep playing this. Also the 10/10s across the board goes to show Nintendo is buying out reviews.

A masterpiece. Easily in the conversation of the best game of all time. This is coming from someone with no nostalgia tied to it and playing it 27 years after release. Blown away by how well it holds up especially in terms of level design and platforming. The camera was a minor nuisance not enough to detract from the value and the controls were not a problem. Aged like wine.

Everything outside of the combat is meh. Wouldn’t recommend playing this right after DMC3.
