How Bout A Round Of Gwent? *nods*

Ranking various minigames

criteria: must be 1) completely separate gameplay-wise from main game 2) no limit to how much you can play them

Nothing is funnier than Geralt listening to a poor peasant tell him about how a monster brutally murdered his entire family only to ignore all of it and ask him to play cards. It rules every time and is essential to the Witcher 3 experience
Most bland Mario title of all time BUT the mini games had no reason to go this hard. Such a needlessly huge library of random mini games for absolutely no reason, and they were great. Luigi casino was the best
I think blitzball would be weirder if it wasn't Tidus's job back home. But it is pretty funny that you can just recruit or play against different townsfolk in Spira. After learning horrible truths in Guadosalam, I enjoyed a game of blitzball like nothing happened. Turn based soccer is CRAZY tho, they were cooking
Fishing mini games are the hallmark of a good JRPG, and this is the absolute goat in that department. Never have I played a more in depth, fun, and practical fishing mini game in any other game. Fishing mini game gold standard right here
It absolutely rules that you can play stupid Atari ass mini games before each boss fight in order to gain an advantage. Had trouble with the Cat Bat boss until I stepped up to the plate in Wario Baseball
Voltorb Flip is hands down the best casino mini game in Pokémon. Minesweeper if it was good and had killer music
If you think I'm not gonna own all these stupid kids and become the Whack-A-Box champion you're out of your mind. The mini games in this game are hilarious simply because Cloud is the one doing them
Not too far in this game but Joustus is pretty fun so far. Honestly a pretty solid simple board game. Collecting all the dumb creature cards is funny
Pokemon Amie was the big meme when this game came out, but I think it's tonally pretty in line with the Pokémon series. Super training is hilarious tho: throw soccer balls at massively over-scaled parade floats of other Pokémon. And I can do this INSTEAD of EV training? Sign me up. Leave it to Gamefreak to streamline access to competitive play but in such an obtuse way
Never played Junimo Kart and I played Journey of the Prairie King once, but they are Neat Little Games
You can play old Pac Man in new Pac Man. You do this to unlock doors and stuff. Pretty cool
Tiger Tiger is a bad game
