"why didn't anyone tell me this is one of the best indie games ever made?" i say after ignoring everyone who told me to play crosscode for the past five years

Still sorting through my more complex thoughts about this one (and might make an entire video at some point), but it's definitely the definitive way to experience Persona 3 unless you're a glutton for weird game design. For everything lost, for every cut mechanic and awkward Unreal Engine-lit environment, there is also something beautiful gained. It's a fool's errand to expect any remake to evoke the exact vibe of the original experience, but Reload maintains the heart and soul where it matters.

we live in a nightmare world where rumbleverse had to die and this game shows up to do an ugly dance on its corpse. it's so much worse than i could have ever imagined it would be.

modern controls are a godsend for a casual player like me. i had a blast with my friends for two weeks, command-grabbing people with Manon's dance moves and spamming JP's silly projectiles and floor spikes. hit platinum and then peaced the fuck out to go live my life and touch grass

adorable little anniversary tribute for one of my all-time favorite games. the camera is a little awkward, but every time i play a 3D platformer i am reminded of how much i love them (and how i wish there were more)

tears of the kingdom needed to be so many things for so many people, so it was impossible for it to live up to all the expectations... but you CAN shield surf on mine cart tracks like they're grind rails so i'd say it was pretty good

oh boy, i love playing a game that feels exactly like the original sonic games again (and yet somehow worse)! sonic mania is better in just about every way and it's a third of the price

this game should be labelled as a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law

i played this game for five hours straight and got so immersed that i was literally throwing stressful dice rolls in my dreams that night

When you distill the concept of “video game” into an essence and shoot it straight into your veins, this is what it feels like. While I did find myself wishing for some more difficulty throughout the entire experience - and for the tricking system to be bit more intricate - it's still incredibly easy to recommend Bomb Rush. It's just... pure fun.

it took me almost two years to finish ring fit, but it's the most proud i've ever felt about beating a video game. it's by no means perfect, but i love it when nintendo decides to do some weird shit and make an exercise game that's 100 times better than it has any right to be - a turn-based RPG where you team up with a talking ring to attack a big buff dragon with squats and arm presses.

my gaming guilty pleasure is dropping an entire weekend into a janky survival crafting game with a bunch of friends, and palworld definitely delivered. it's far from perfect with plenty of bugs and a typical survival crafting grind that makes the experience start to lose its luster after the 30 hour mark, but there's a lot of new and fun ideas here that work together as more than the sum of their (very) inspired parts.

playing through the entirety of sonic boom and its toddler-ass "woah, a button? we should press the button!" writing is something wouldn't wish on my greatest enemy. the only reason i beat this game is because i looked up the any% route.

went in like "yeah i don't cry that often" but damn this game got hands
