Really mixed feelings about this.
Pros:
- Great voice acting
- Incredible soundtrack
- Beautiful Graphics
- Fantastic art
- Really interesting world
Cons:
- Interesting world, but you only get a few opportunities to interact with it. Could have used more mini games and side quests
- Astoundingly awful dialogue. I'm amazed that the sheer amount of dumb lines in this game got Squeenix's approval.
- The game tends to wear out its welcome and could have trimmed off a few boss fights (especially at the last two chapters of the game).
- The combat system takes a while to get used to
I'm about to start the DLC and move on to Rebirth. I'm hopeful I'll have a better time with those than remake.

This was the first Yakuza game I completed and while I did enjoy myself, the remake has a lot of janky moments (mostly in the fights and the enemy AI) . The Majima encounters are fun at first, but quickly wear out their welcome. There's loads of side content and the story is batshit insane (as to be expected) but fun overall.

Probably the best Yakuza game I've played. Really enjoyed the story and the characters. Fighting system is fluid and fights are engaging. Plenty of additional content / side quests that kept me entertained. I've got over 100 hours on this game according to my ps5, so I definitely got my moneys worth.
Picked it up for 20 bucks and played coop with a friend and had a great time. The game doesn't look great, if anything it looks more like a PS3 game but the art style is quite nice. Combat is kinda like Nioh / Dark Souls but more forgiving. The job system along with coop support easily gives the game a ton more replay value. The story is silly and fun. Definitely worth it if you catch it on a sale.
Good game from a great franchise but suffers from a story that seems to want to be more than it is. All that topped off with clunky controls and AI from your squadmates who will occasionally follow your orders. The gameplay is still decent and it's nice to have a WWII FPS that has a darker tone than most shooters in the genre. It's not as good as its predecessors (Earned in Blood being my favorite), but still worth a playthrough.
This series deserves a remake or two, or at least an HD remaster of the first two titles.

Nice (albeit short) game. Has pretty notable influence from movies like Alien, The Thing, and others. The monster design is cool but can be a hassle to control sometimes. The sound design is great, there were a couple of times I actually thought I heard a Xenomorph from the Alien movies. Some negatives I can think of are that it's incredibly short - I managed to 100 percent the game in 4 hours - and the game desperately needs a map as you'll find yourself going in circles over and over again.
