I started to dislike the game a bit right around when you first get access to The Depths where all of the solutions basically boiled down to just stack shit bro. Also fuck Shift for that same reason. The rest of the game was mostly fun though and hit the sweet spot for me difficultywise.

Frustrating. Not fun. Bunny movement is unintuitive. Cringy dialogue. Bland visuals. Boring music. Quit halfway through the second world.

Played this because I enjoyed Void Stranger made by the same devs. I'm not the biggest shmup fan but I did enjoy my time with it. Didn't feel compelled at all to keep playing after beating all stages to get the true ending. It felt like I had seen 99% of what the game had to offer at that point and I wasn't going to grind my ass off to get the final 1% in a genre I do not enjoy that much.

Great game with a stellar soundtrack. Slowly uncovering more and more secrets and the unexpected ways that the game open up made me keep playing. The puzzles were good too. The difficulty scaling was just right and I liked the decently challenging endgame puzzles. My favorite parts were Mon's domain, the DIS part and NG+ itemeless. Most of the puzzles felt fair and doable but there were a few bullshit ones. For example, the room where the solution was to just pause four times. On the other hand, some of the secrets in this game were a little obscure but I did figure out most of them on my own. For the stuff I wasn't able to figure out on my own I had a blast discovering new things or just discussing the game with other players.
After basically doing everything the game has to offer I still crave more. I can only hope we get some updates or DLC at some point...

Oh yeah, fuck the shmup stuff.

After playing for a few hours without making much progress I got bored of it. Feels like the only thing you're doing is waiting for cooldowns. It is a unique game though and I can see why some people enjoy it but it's just not for me.

Aesthetic is cool at first but is pretty bland and gets old very quickly. Same goes for the gameplay, feels like you go for exactly the same strategy every time no matter what character/weapon you choose. Most characters and weapons just are not different enough to grant you a whole different experience. Some of the crazy effects that you can get on your bullets are cool though.

It wasn't terrible but also wasn't very good. I am glad I played it though as I now know for certain that I won't be playing After Years.

Really? Shoes?

Other than that great game, great game.

2019

Cute and very charming game. Love the monster designs. The game has this magical atmosphere that I have never seen before and it really captivated me. If only the game wasn't a giant pain in the ass to play...

I did play the browser version quite a few times and I did enjoy it but after a while you kinda have the whole game figured out and you're going to have to use the strategies that you know that work or you won't get far. You cannot really "go" for a certain strategy and you have to work with what you got which is of course the point of the game but sometimes you just get dealt a bad hand and it's almost impossible to beat the third act. Balancing is still going on since the full version hasn’t released yet so that might improve but as of right now it's just a decent game that you can pick up and do like one run. Purse, CR8 and Satchel are nice characters but I am not really liking Tote and Pochetta. Pochetta is a chore to play as with all of her pets and managing every one of their inventories. They're just a bit underwhelming and I expected more of them than just being glorified extra backpacks. I do think they are charming and I'd like for them to stand out more with more abilities or maybe even allow them to level up or something. Tote is just weird and unintuitive to play as. She did get a balancing update but I still do not really like her.

I liked messing around with all the different jobs but you'll quickly find out that not all jobs are created equal. Spiritmaster, for example, just straight up breaks the game and makes you invincible. Also the game is very grindy, especially on hard difficulty. I did like the main characters (except Tiz) and many of the bosses were great characters as well.
I did enjoy my time with this game for the most part up untill a certain infamous point and then it got good again at the end.

I enjoyed the game quite a bit. Characters are different enough from each other that you get enough variation in experience when playing them. I liked the music a lot. Aesthetic is fine too albeit a bit basic.

Love this game. One of my favorite games of all time. I have lost count how many times I've replayed this game. Great music especially for MIDI. Love (most) areas. I like the soul collecting and the bosses are good too. Love the movement, Black Panther and Hippogryph are especially great. Love the weapons' look and feel. The game is pretty unbalanced though, some souls are pretty overpowered while others are useless. The game also has some bugs, like LCK having a negligible effect and STR boosting red soul damage instead of INT. Also I do not like having to put on the progression souls every time I encounter such an area, mostly with water areas. The map could do with making a clearer distinction between the different areas. I also do not really like the Chaos Realm and the Chaos boss even less.

Acts 1 and 2 were alright but I loved acts 3 and 4.

I liked it. A bit grindy though, especially when you want to do the endgame stuff (fucking Memories Lane)
