InFamous: Festival of Blood is the kind of thing that I secretly wish devs would do more often. Recycle your existing map and mechanics, but remix it in a cool way for a short and sweet adventure.
Giving Cole vampire powers and going on a non-canon romp through a visually-distinct New Marais was like a fun victory lap after finishing Infamous 2. No karma to worry about, vampires don't need no stinkin' karma, they need b l o o d. Shadow Swarm is a move that makes traversal downright trivial, save for the moment where you need to suck some poor sap's blood dry to keep going. Using Vampire Sense to follow Mother Mary's teachings and spot impostors in the crowds of people was also really fun.
The big kicker for this one is how the content kinda tapers off halfway through. I don't know why the UGC content is back, and it took me a bit to realize that my next couple of main missions were going to revolve around them. Their production value is a lot lower than the rest of the game, which is all the more jarring due to the game's already short length. Ah well, it was a nice bit of extra time in New Marais. Happy Novemberween, I suppose.

A really great bite sized version of inFamous. The main addition here is the ability to turn into a swarm of bats and fly around whenever you want, which whips a lot of ass. It gives you a ton of mobility, which makes getting around very satisfying. Also great is the progression which, since this is a small scale game, proceeds at a blistering pace which is exhilarating. Obviously the game doesn't last long, but while it does it's extremely satisfying and extremely fun.
I wish more games had the guts to release completely unfitting spinoff entries with bizarre fantasy theming. This is literally Infamous with vampires and it's great! Give me more of that! Where's Ratchet and Clank with vampires? Uncharted with giant robots? Deus Ex with ghosts? Make more weird shit!
Infamous: Festival of Blood sells itself as a vampire DLC of the second title. It becomes clear after some time that despite the silly theme and promising gimmick, this is just a creatively bankrupt entry in this franchise.
To make it clear, Festival of Blood is the same game as Infamous 2, just with vampires. You can still do lightning attacks, but you can also become a swarm of bats. There are no karma missions and karma points, but you can drink the blood of every NPC of the game.
Seemingly, this sounds fun but the overall structure of the DLC just has this unfun and kind of frustrating approach. First off, you need blood for your flying ability, but you have a blood meter, which is restricted at the start. The more blood you have, the longer you can fly. Simple, yet annoying.
A cool idea ruined by the fact, that the devs still try to force progression systems into the DLC, despite knowing that people who are going to play this will probably be the same players who finished Infamous 2.
You do not want to get upgrades, you do not want the
same mundane missions that were in 2, you want fun.
The negatives aside, if you want more Infamous 2, this is the game for you. Sadly, I did not wanted more Infamous 2.

Now, there are franchises for which I -- and many other people -- would kill to have a what-if scenario involving vampires. AO3 stands as living proof of that. inFamous wasn't exactly on my list, but I took what I could get, and you know what? It was enjoyable.
The game features a what-if scenario where Cole gets turned into a vampire. The script is pretty derpy, so adjust your expectations for that, but his new vampire powers are pretty fun to play around with.
Issues with the game can be summarized by it not being fleshed out enough, which, I guess standalone expansions might have been considered a huge risk at the time. It needed to be longer, and more challenging. But hey, to its credit, "I wanted more of it" is a pretty great detriment to have.

Not much to say. A fun little standalone romp and spin-off of Infamous 2 in a similar vein (is that a pun?) as Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare. Alters the map for an AU playthrough that's perfect for Halloween. If you liked Infamous 2, and you like vampires, you'll like this. I love how it brings some more atmosphere to Infamous 2 that I wanted (and as said in my Infamous 2 review). But Festival of Blood is short enough that you aren't going to get anything mind-blowing or extensive from it. It's a fun little time meant for Halloween, and that's perfectly fine.
