Lego Builder's Journey is a puzzle game where you build things with legos. Yeah. That's the best premise for a puzzle game, and surprising it took this long for something like it to come out. Obviously there have been many lego games but those are more just platformers with a lego theme. When i was kid I was all over legos, they were a big part of my childhood. So as you can imagine i was pretty excited for something like this.

And, its good. Its not a great game. But its good. For something as creative as legos this game feels surpisingly restrictive. Lots of levels only give you a select few pieces and while you can technically complete them in any way you want, there isnt really that many options. Not to say some levels arent pretty clever. And there were quite a few I liked a lot but seemingly just as many with weird mechanics that expect you to think outside of the box despite the majority of the game being very straightforward.

The story is... there I guess. Theres definitely something but its all about the visuals and music. Its a little abstract and I didnt particularly care for it, but Im also terrible at picking up on things so maybe its actually pretty good. Thankfully what the story is made up of, those aformentioned music and visuals are really good. The music is very peaceful and fits the game well. Obviously everything is lego but the little diorama-esque levels are all very pretty looking with some fantastic lighting.

The game happens to be quite short which may make it seem a little expensive for the price tag but its just a little puzzle game, I dont think these types of games need to be long and I prefer wanting more than overstaying its welcome. Quality is over quantity and this game has the quality. There is also a creative mode where you can build sandcastles as your leisure which is neat but also feels as restrictive as the main game. Still holding out for a game thats just minecraft creative mode but with legos.

Very pretty puzzle game that can be completed in under 2 hours. There's enough variety for the length but most puzzles are a bit easy.

Cool idea, cute and beautiful execution and an absolute banger to test out on your new iPhone.

Cozy music, good vibes, but unfortunately I didn't find the puzzles all that interesting. For being a LEGO game, most of the puzzles are really restrictive and don't let you come up with interesting solutions on your own. It would have been nice if there was a button to rotate the blocks the opposite way as well, but I overall found the experience boring.

Lego™️ Divorce leads Lego™️ Children to the worst Lego™️ Places

It's the puzzle game that I've always wanted, building pathways and solving puzzles with actual lego bricks, how come no one thought of this idea before.

"Just put one block after the other Son and you'll make it in the end!"

That's how it felt like what the main character's parent would say. Such a simple yet lovely little game, absolutely stunning visuals and soothing soundtrack. Easy 100% and it also has creative mode! Highly recommended, even if the price does seem a little high for the actual content.

Really nice casual game, wouldn’t say it’s worth playing twice especially not on mobile i was fighting the controls for a bit when i started

we need more of whatever this is

Cute little puzzle adventure. Controls were a bit awkward at times and none of the puzzles were that deep. It was nice that most things didn't have a single solution and allowed for some creativity.

The puzzles were way too abstract to be interesting, and despite my best efforts I just couldn't get emotional about a couple of vaguely human blocks doing....whatever it was they did in this game. As a graphics showpiece it was nice, but the PC controls really suffered in the transition from iPhone.

Never thought putting together Legos would make me sob uncontrollably. I love you dad <3.

A short, quaint experience, but not one free of issues. I loved the concept and the comfy vibes, but found myself taking issues with the often times confusing console controls as well as the weird mix of satisfying, confusing and repetitve puzzles with the satisfying ones all but vanishing by the end of the game, instead just providing longwinded and tedious building.

I'd overall recommend this game (especially if you can pick it up for literally £2 like I did) but be warned of its short runtime and lack of replay value. The experience as it is can be summed up as "a mostly solid brainteaser featuring beautiful LEGO setpieces". Personally, for as good as it is, this makes me really excited as to what the future of LEGO games holds.

Oh, what a cute game! But I'm sure it won't have a soundtrack that will fill me with nostalgia and hit me right in the feels of- This starts playing... fuck.

After the emotional rollercoaster that was Inmost and being busy with college stuff, I figured it would be the perfect time to play something short and relaxing, and Builder's Journey seemed like exactly that! Plus, I was curious about this one, since the LEGO videogame realm has been monopolized by Traveller's Tales style of gameplay, which I don’t necessarily have a problem with, those are pretty fun games, especially in co-op, but I did have the itch for some variations in my LEGO, and BOY is it different.

The way the game presents itself is, and pardon me the outrageous vocabulary I'm about to employ, FUCKING ADORABLE. All the levels feel like little dioramas that could be replicated to perfection in real life, everything is constructed from LEGO pieces, even the characters are made from blocks instead of being the usual figurines. It all just has this homemade feeling that it goes really well with the vibe it's trying to achieve, and even better with the music. I made a joke about it at the start but yeah, it's criminally good, and it all just comes together to form this calm sensation that, even tho Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker did a very similar thing with its levels, I like how it’s done here a bit more honestly, it just fits so nicely with the LEGO aesthetic, it's... perfection.

All of these levels are built (no pun intended this time, I swear) around a puzzle, and I adore how the game keeps building (I SWEAR) on top of itself, slowly introducing new elements and ideas that just feel right at home with the world of LEGO, it never gets difficult or too complex, but I like that, it keeps thing simple and it’s just sweet to find the solutions to the problems the game poses, and they are all extremely creative. However, while placing the pieces feels satisfying and it makes the movement all the more rewarding, I sometimes found it hard to determine where to put a piece, or what even is a piece you can use in the first place. The few times I got stuck were because I just didn't notice something I needed because it blended into the background and not having a free camera it's truly a shame, the main shot of the level is usually all that you need but it would be nice to have the option for the sake of being able to distinguish everything more easily, especially in levels with less light or where more stuff is going off. I also didn't really like the last sections and types of puzzle the game throws at you, which it's a shame because as I said, all the new ideas are usually extremely innovative and fun, but even tho the final sections consist in you basically building and creating new pieces at yours heart content... I don't know, it felt too unclear and even a bit unsatisfying, and it just seemed like I was doing random stuff and I didn't feel smart or like I overcome a challenge when I beat one of those levels. Thankfully they are far from being the bulk of the game, but it's kinda sad that one of the last notes the game leaves on is not a good one...

But even more than that, what makes me even sadder is that the game didn’t quite go all the way in with its narrative. LEGO games have always been characterized by their irreverent humor, and that’s were Builder’s Journey differs the most when compared to its family. At first it feels like an extremely sweet and sincere story about a parent and their kid, travelling and exploring together, all without words yet so much is told, and I would lie if I said it kinda made me feel a bit emotional at the beginning, it all just was so happy and the music elevated it even more. And when you thought the game was going to take and even more interesting route with this concept, it sadly doesn’t deliver. I never expected it a profound story or anything like that, and the game never really changes in tone, but its sad to see that it sacrifices the messages and narrative it could have gone through in favor of a more average adventure that doesn’t even give full context to what was happening. I sometimes thought some things were product by the kid’s imagination, but … nope, it’s all real and while it doesn’t clash with the rest of the game, it just feels like excuses to have MORE puzzles in an already pretty short experience. I would have honestly preferred a story with less steaks in favor on something more personal like the beginning promised, but, oh well, the ending its pretty sweet.

That’s how I can sum up this game: sweet. A sweet little journey that could have been a little bit more if it tried, but it’s just adorable and really charming nonetheless. I really recommend it, mainly because of how different and creative it is, the only bad thing is that it made me want to spend money on LEGO, and GOD they are expensive holy shi-

O jogo tem um visual muito bonitinho, mas além de desafios meio fáceis demais, alguns puzzles são obtusos e tem um level design bem pobre.

Jogo fraco, mas vale o teste por ser rápido.

A very short puzzle game with a quaint little story. It's cute! My biggest take away from Builder's Journey is complete and utter amazement at how stunningly rendered these Lego bricks are. Like looking at an actual, physical diorama - the bricks that compose every stage have their own imperfections and reflective qualities that make the game look completely Real, made even better when stages animate with brick-style liquid physics. Maybe the first actual case I've seen where Raytracing doesn't look like complete dog shit.

Probably the first game I've played in a while that makes me feel disappointed. Was hoping for a chill, eye-candy puzzle game, and what I got is a clunky, headscratch-inducing and repetitive one.

I do not like how the game controls: selecting which blocks to move can feel very finicky with the analog stick, especially in later parts of the game. And having to hold the X button to put things down gets tiresome quickly. Maybe it would work better with a mouse.

As for the puzzles themselves, it's kinda weird. Most of the time you will have to move your character from start to wherever the goal is, and the act of repeatedly selecting which blocks your character can move to feels mindnumbing to me. The closest thing to good puzzles here are the ones where all you have to do is connect the starting location to the goal with blocks that you character can skate on, since it removes the previous repetitive act. But even then these puzzles don't feel particularly satisfying, stimulating, or interesting. During the story mode, there is no point where I felt like I was doing something fun. I'm truly baffled by it. If I didn't know it was only 2 hours, I would probably bail out midway through.

There's also the creative mode, which allows you to build freely in a 10x10 Lego area. I tried making something nice but the story mode left such a bad taste in my mouth that I just can't really put my mind into it. Bought this on 50% off and I definitely regret it.

Very lovable and relaxing game! Genuinely had a great time. The controls are a bit clunky, yes, but after a while you'll get it.

R.I.P stove </3

Really beautiful and some clever puzzles but a bit repetitive even with how short it is. If the same puzzles weren't repeated so much I would love this game even more.

Amazing how much character is portrayed through the little lego dudes. They're not even minifigures, but they managed to tell a cute little story with them. Also the soundtrack is pretty GOATed

i can't be THAT mean to this game, it's like an hour and a half long and is a cute little experience, just not one that really grabbed me or anything. seeing the little lego builds was cute, but the story wasn't all that great (not that it was trying to be a masterpiece but still.) and the puzzles weren't very satisfying or great. some even got a little frustrating/annoying by the end and part of that is on the controls. to be fair, i think playing this on PC would 100% be ideal but the mobile controls were pretty janky and annoying. i can't imagine controller is much better.

this also isn't really my exact kind of game, and i didn't have a terrible time but i was hoping it'd be a bit more charming or the puzzles would be a bit more interesting to feel super worth it.

The best looking LEGO bricks???? Charming little puzzle game. The controls are very janky and finnicky (PC with mouse), which is pretty much the only big gripe I have with it other than it being rather easy. Was a nice break from the usual games, though, so I'm glad it was short. I just think it's neat.

Gotta love Lego's storytelling without the use of dialogue. The atmospheric music pairs nicely with the simplicity of Lego and visual tone. However, the gameplay itself is a little too simplistic and repetitive. The controls feel off and sluggish.

you ever get it where a lego game makes you cry real hard about the fact that you don't have a father

A little puzzle game in Lego style. And there is even a little story!.. Well.. very little but it's there.
The puzzles are mostly not that hard, but still not to easy too.
Sometimes it was a bit clumsy to get your stone in the right time on the right place, but nothing that broke the game.
So all in all: Nice little puzzle game

i love the visuals and the concept of this sorta game is great but a lot of the levels were a bit too easy/repetitive for my liking and despite this being a relatively short game i felt like it dragged on because of that.
my main gripe is that there's little room for creativity when it comes to solving each level even though this is a Lego Game

unfinished because on one of the last few levels my framerate suddenly went to hell and i don't feel like going through another 2-layered level at that pace.
i would love to see another game like this in the future though!

Game perhaps too simple except on rare occasions. Short, too short to pay full price. Do not pay more than 10 €/$ for this game.
