Sticks. Swordfighting. Go figures, do not let me down! Anybody who played this gets it, what makes it truly fun, and it's not microtransactions. Tug-of-war truly shines when it's not just blind button spamming, now it's just button mashing. See where them legs get you, if you're unable to catch up just give up and turn the other cheek. Nah but just trust me you sooner oughta give up and run away because you'll be back stronger than ever to cockblock your foe. Boi I need to make sure to write that down, here I am chasing someone's tail with matching speed like a gullible idiot trying to get the drippy shoes on the first hour of black friday. All this can be avoided with suicidal thoughts...

It's crazy how they called this Nidhogg because that mf just vores you. Immaculate thought process. Sure, if you consider that a win Mark go ahead, I won't question the elevated one. If I start talking too much shit and start seeing my opponent raising their sword above their head I know I done fucked up. No crazy combos but you can move kinda crazy and the ultimate disrespect is stomping on your opponent's head to make it explode, despite the clear absence of signs of life already. Death isn't enough I want that mf no head pause 💀

So, that's about it. Did you know human cadavers could be used for composting? I've now proven without a shadow of a doubt that this game is woke. Shame on the devs whole family tree spanning the last and next 300 years. Hmm but also, characters are barely more than humanoid so who knows what we can compost outta them?

Ugly as sin. Pretty fun, but hard to bring up during the "What should we play" discussion because it is so ugly. I like the simplicity and charming looks of the first game better.

legitimately never felt more alive than when I fought my friend in this game

I think it's quite crazy how this studio went from pong-tier illustration (this isn't a dig at the previous game's art fyi It's an observation) work in the previous game to THIS. Super stylized pixel art(?) with stellar looking stages and player character's that don't just blend into each other. However on the gameplay front for me it was really nothing to write home about I do like the addition of new weapons (love how you can parry arrows) but I think this is definitely a title you only pick up if you're fortunate enough to have friends who'd be willing to drop some cash on a game you're likely to only play for a day and then never pick up again.

MEINE FANTA DU FINDEST DAS SICHER LUSTIG

Really long fights and really grotesque art style is the sequel to square dudes fencing

Nidhogg 2 is a blatant cash grab that tarnishes the legacy of the original game. The developers have completely missed the mark with this sequel, opting for a shovelware approach that prioritizes pandering to the audience over delivering a quality gaming experience. The new art style is a jarring departure from the original game's minimalist aesthetic, and the gameplay changes feel forced and unnecessary. It's clear that Messhof has lost touch with what made the original Nidhogg so special, and Nidhogg 2 is a disappointing reminder of that fact.

Score: 2/10

This was a fun, short, and compelling experience. I only played the arcade section, but this would be a blast with other people. I can see myself screaming at my friends because they stabbed me in the balls for the 70th time. Unfortunately, there wasn't anyone in the matchmaking, and it's only two players.

More of the same fun, and the change in graphics/style adds cartoonish humour to the crude violence. Great stuff!

Very fun game to play with friends

Swordfighting for people who prefer Banjo-Tooie

What I mean by that is this: The first Nidhogg was incredibly simple. Very basic, bare-bones fighting and chasing. It worked because it was so simple. Nidhogg 2 expounds greatly on the first game's foundation with more weapons, levels, and an absolutely bonkers aesthetic.

If you're the kind of person who thinks Banjo-Kazooie is better because of its simplicity, I'd wager you'll prefer Nidhogg 1. But if you, like me, loved the complexity and mildly-convoluted wackiness of Tooie, then this sequel will similarly be right up your alley.

I really dig the look. The new weapons make it a slightly different game, and hence the original is not made redundant. This is how to do a sequel. Love it.

It's Nidhogg but uglier and with more weapons and stages. I like the simplicity of the original, but I think this is the more interesting game overall.

incredibly fun with friends, especially when no one can get the upper hand for a while

Great fun to play with friends (specially those friends you usually play fighting games with)

I AM THE UNBEATEN CHAMPION OF THIS WITHIN MY FRIENDGROUP

I think I liked the art style of Nidhogg 1 more than the second, but I guess they needed more of their own identity. The gameplay is still excellent and can get quite sweaty and competitive with friends. It does lag quite a bit online on PS4 which is a bit disappointing to see.

I played the first one at a friend's house, and liked it. This game is that, but better and more diverse. Exceedingly fast-paced PvP game that's a blast to play. Simple, straight-to-the-point combat where an individual scuffle can end in seconds. Full matches are a roller coaster of emotions. Art style is gross, but it kinda works.

As local multiplayer goes, this has become a classic in my house. Simple to learn, and hard to master. The change in art style is controversial but I think it works really well. However, I would say that you shouldn't get this if you have no-one to play against locally.

Nidhogg PERO AUN MAS FEO

In the end, it kind of adds nothing to Nidhogg one, more weapons is cool but some of them are so terrible they take away from the enjoyment

undeniably great art and tunes and cool new levels. have mixed feelings about the added weapons but you can turn them off

fun game! doesn't charm me as much as the original but is still satisfying to get good at

pick up the bow and watch all your friends get incredibly mad at you

Bon p'tit jeu de 1v1 en couch coop.
