this made me realize i just don't fuck with metroidvenia games in general, nothing really wrong with the game, just not my type of shit

Ender Lilies emphasizes just how good Hollow Knight was.

Combat is a bit more Souls-like in the sense that getting hit by enemy attacks is punishing and by extension, attacking is more of a commitment. However, there are a lot of times where you can exploit angles in order to get free kills and that doesn't necessarily feel rewarding.

The aesthetic of the game is probably its strongest point with its eldritch horror aspects but the plot and the dialogue don't really hold up to the level of intrigue that was promised by the setting.

i REALLY enjoyed this game

STORY: not the main appeal but its nice, i honestly didnt really read many of the writings that you find around the map but its not like super story heavy youre just a priestess tryna undo all the bad that happened to the world with ghosts helping you. adds to the dark visuals ig
VISUALS: i loved it. every characters design was good, and the enemies had a lot of sovl to their designs. backgrounds were pretty and animations were really smooth. literally turned it to 1/4 speed at one point in cheat engine just to see all of it in detail (and because there was this one secret that required pixel perfection lol)
AUDIO: very good. i wouldnt call any tracks memorable enough to pay more than like 3 dollars for the ost (seriously, 15 bucks????) but i never wanted to take my headphones off. sound fx are solid.
GAMEPLAY: definitely the best part of the game. your attacks being disjointed from your character adds a little bit more strategy as to when to use them. the main weapon i used was the viking guy who fucked up every enemy he came across, albeit slowly. i did not use all spirits but my 2 builds were viking guy, axe teleporter guy, projectile boss for the first and main guy, raven, spear guy for the second set. i really liked how the map was done, rooms are connected by a line instead of being all clumped together which allowed for rooms to feel more like their own spaces. there wasnt really a grind, despite what some reviews may say. i got to max level without doing anything special, just looking through every room i was missing something in when i got something i thought could help me find it. another thing i really liked about the map is that when you get all the collectables, it glows orange instead of blue. only issue with this is the final boss room is exempt from this rule (unmarked spoiler oh nooo)

9/10

nier isn't even that good why would you play a generic indie knockoff

The cute albino girl Album is a wonderful mix of excellent soundtracks by Mili that comes with a really good Metroidvania game.

I've played a lot of metroidvanias and this is one of my new favorites. It's relatively simple but everything is does is tight and solid, a clay pot with NO cracks. The atmosphere is perfect and is accompanied by a somber melancholic soundtrack. There's a few annoying enemies and areas but they were outliers to the whole experience. The combat system feels unique and fresh for this genre and I really enjoyed it. A must play for any fan of metroidvanias.

Excellent game. It wasn't overly difficult, just the perfect level of challenge. Solid metroidvania game.

Great anime hollow knight clone, looks great and plays fine. Definitely recommend

I bought this from steam for 15$ I returned after 2 hours. The game might get better, but it was not that fun. After two hours I was not hooked at all. This has so many good reviews that it seems maybe it gets better, but I didn't want to take the gamble on 15$. Maybe I'll rebuy when it's 5$ and give it a shot.

The world uses dull color pallet. The art is interesting, but bland. The fighting is very basic and not interesting. Lots of running and having to turn around and go a different direction.

A game that has incredible presentation and an amazing soundtrack.
Unfortunately It suffers from stupidly tanky enemies and a scarcity of checkpoints and shortcuts that ends up making you slowly fight yourself back every-time you die.

Something I also couldn't get over while playing was how awkward all the enemy animations are.
They completely fail to telegraph both size and speed of the attack even if they have a little eye flash that appears right before the moment of impact.
Sadly this flash fails to be a consistent tell to when an attack will hit, all it tells is that an attack is being prepares which makes it feel like it was put in the game for people who don't look at the target they are fighting.

Game good, final area was annoying to traverse though but other than that, I'd say this is a solid game and might have made me love metroidvanias

If you like Hollow Knight you will probably like this, starts a bit slow but the level design continues to evolve to a point where discovering secrets is as hard as some of the bosses. Would play again.

Started fine but the combat never clicked and the story couldn't keep me interested. Esthetically awesome though.

Buen metroidvania.

Enjoyed this more the further along I got with it but it's still missing something. The spirit system adds nice variety but the movement and combat are very floaty. The general aesthetic is nice but the level and map design are just not there. This ends up making the whole game feel generic despite being rather well written, just like the title; Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights? You can't tell me that doesn't sound randomly generated.

The game is fun. But the design tends to lean more 'annoying is difficult' near the end, which holds it back a ton.

Contenders for one of the best metroidvanias around. I want to revisit this one some day in order to 100% it.

cool metroidvania with a pretty artstyle, the game controls kinda weird imo, but its not too bad, overall pretty good and definitely a recommendation for people who like metroidvanias.
