I tried liking this game, but it's SO slow. Combat drags on for ages and the UI is so bad, it's hard to know what's happening. I do not recommend it at all.

the league lore is great we seen it in arcane so an rpg is a must and ruined king is good one the story is meh most of the time but the cast is great from mf to yasuo
the combat is the real deal here its really good a turn based with Clever sys i liked it a lot its better then most jrpg who cant come up with something new allthought
the animation takes a lot of time even with 2x

so if you fan of turn based or you like lol lore this is the game for you

This is a fine craft but it's impossible to deny that is focused entirely to League of Legends players, that's not a bad thing but the slow pace adds to an experience tailored to a specific product, but i really think there's a good game here, but it's definitely a slow burner.

Being completely honest... there are other better RPGs to play, and I say this with a little bit of sadness, mainly because I like this characters in LoL, but I just felt... overwhelmed and kinda bored. The highest point for me were the interactions between them: a fanservice that I, as a lol player, couldn't get as much as I wanted to in the main game. The champion's mechanics were also well designed and loyal from the original game, which is also a plus.

I'll definitely pick up this again at sometime, but not now.

An rpg that I actual dig the combat! The lane system is so fun and I like the lore so much it’s kinda pushing me through samey story beats, I’m only halfway, looking to finish in early 2022

As someone not familiar at all with LoL lore, I really enjoyed this game. I'm sure there were nuggets I missed, but everything was well told and the cutscenes were very well done.

I thought the champions had good variety in playstyle. The systems were all well fleshed out and felt meaningful. Loved the art style, and loved all the storytelling elements sprinkled throughout the game.

Some downsides were I felt the settings felt a bit repetitive. Lots of "temples" and generally drab dungeon areas. Also felt that, even on Heroic, you always outpaced the game in terms of difficulty. Could've scaled a bit harder. Also felt the "5 quest tracking" limitation felt silly, and some quests didn't track well on the map when trying to figure out where to go next.

All in all a great experience, and hopefully there's another similar game to come!

A bloated but largely enjoyable experience.

When boiled down to its combat mechanics, Ruined King does a great job at adding depth to the tried and tested turn-based combat. As the game progresses however, it fails to add anything new or exciting to the gameplay, meaning the many MANY combat encounters during the game's dungeons can start to become a little repetitive. This, combined with the somewhat scuffed dificulty curve, means you can pretty much autopilot your way through much of the second half of the game. Despite not having random encounters per say, the enemies run fast enough and have a wide enough hitbox that dodging any combat in the game is pretty tough.

Many of the environments start out as exciting places to explore, with lots of nooks and crannies offering minor but satisfying items of loot. By late-game, however, there is simply not enough variety. The game takes place between two main settings: Bilgewater, the scuzzy pirate town by the sea, and the Shadow Isles, which is basically one giant haunted island. Within each of these zones, outside of a few isolated rooms, it really felt like you were trawling through the same spots over and over.

This lack of identity, as well as the slightly complex layout of some zones (not in a bad way), meant that checking the map was a constant necessity. Most of this game's UI is hidden behind at least 2 menus, meaning constantly opening up the pause, fiddling around for a while, closing, and then immediately needing to reopen after you inevitively forget which exit you need to take, or that you needed to enchant an item you just equipped, or blah blah blah. This really did weigh down the general experience of the game. More hotkeys would have massively sped up navigation and equipment management.

Maybe this was a me-problem, but I found one team comp much more playable than any other, meaning I stuck with it for most of the second half of the game. This, compounded with the fact that the game's final act feels like it lasts for about half the game, especially when we keep getting little minor distractions as we're on our way to the final boss, really dragged the experience out for me.

I definitely liked this game, but I find it a lot more interesting to talk about what I didn't like than what I did. It's a gorgeous game, especially when we get the comic animation style during story events - genuinely wow moments. And the story itself is strong, and your band of characters are a really diverse group. They're all well written, with nice motivation to help the story trundle along. Plus it's always nice to see some of your favourite characters in a different genre and some creative license. And I really mean it when I say the combat is good, I just wish it required mastering to beat the game.

Remove some of the padding, speed the menus and UI up across the board, and this is easily a 4-star experience for me.

bom jogo, melhor q o lol normal

The combat system is really fun and engaging but everything else is kinda drab and boring unfortunately, I got to the shadow isles and then dropped it :((

Puzzles are fun, ability trees allow for numerous playstyles and team compositions, story is easy to follow if you are new to the League of Legends universe.

Solid 8.5/10 Experience, 9.3/10 if you're into league of legends lore/world building

Quick Abilities + Lane Abilities division reminds me of card game mechanics, so that’s a way to learn/get used to the difference. Ties into the combat ordering pretty well and is relatively straight forward
Lane abilities affecting combat power + combat ordering makes sense. I will say, early on, there doesn’t seem to be THAT much benefit to it yet, but that comes later, especially on higher difficulties.

I guess also a big thing is that Wildcards (Hazards/Boons) play around the combat ordering- so you want to like- avoid them with differently timed abilities.

I do wish it was a bit more clear for when I plan an ability if it’s in a hazard or boon.

LOOOVE Dungeon abilities. It’s not just the damage, but the fact that it like, sets up things like Illaoi’s passive to start combat with 1 tentacle. It’s also an excellent like, opportunities to display skill mastery (albeit, twitch skill which isn’t the primary focus here but eh it’s fine). Super Neato.

Fun story, fun mechanics, fun characters. Visually very nice to look at and good optimization. Very artsy landscapes and cutscenes. Definitely enjoyed that. The long walks to merchants, side quests, loot etc. were too much sometimes. Finished the main story, but am not motivated to 100% side quests or collectibles cause the travel can be really slow. League lore enjoyers get a nice treat and turn based strategy lovers have a decent game with a good amount of theorycrafting and building.

All around, nothing groundbreaking but I enjoyed it alot. Definitely worth to pick it up, especially on a sale.

I think my biggest issue is just how I don't really care for the cast and they don't really do a good job at making them stand out compared to Arcane.

Game is good. But was obviously on a serious deadline to release alongside Riot's other stupidly enormous amount of "Riot X Arcane" content. Game is good. But maybe do wait a couple of months for proper bug and balance fixes, before giving it a shot. The composer is also composer for the Ori games, so yeah.

This is surprisingly good. Very slow start but getting fun in late game. No need to grind extensively also a plus. Very fresh turn-based system (at least for me) and really good battle animation and world design. Story is okay but charas are loveable and their banter is fun. There are a lot of sidequest, hidden dungeon, and ultimate weapon/skill to get. Still enjoyable for non league player/fans. BUT FUCKING ENDING CUTSCENE IS BLACK SCREEN AND BUGGED WTF DID I PLAY A PIRATED GAME DISC (?). Luckily its skipable, if not then wtf. I recommend to play on Steam. THAT FINAL CUTSCENE BUG IS A BIG NO.

A decent league JRPG with interesting mechanics. If you love league of legends lore, ruined king will be up your alley. It's a short game though and if you grind a bit early, the game becomes a cakewalk even on the hardest difficulty

Fun combat system and a decent challenge on heroic difficulty.

the game is more fun if you have an idea of how LoL works and some of the characters that are present in this game. every character's abilities are almost identical to their abilities in LoL, just in a turn-based form.

- the gameplay is the highlight of this game for me. it was fun to use the lane mechanic, which is a nice way to implement the LoL lane system in a turn-based game. and all of the characters were fun to play as.

- honestly, the story is nothing to write home about. what made it enjoyable are the characters (especially Braum <3) but it was nice to explore more of the rich world of Runeterra.

- the art style is pretty good. but some of the comic book style cutscenes didn't look too good. but overall the game is pretty to look at. wished there were character portraits to show more emotions in the dialogue.

Some bugs, some slow passages, but everything else was pretty cool! With a little bit of refinement I'd love a sequel.

It was okay, but it did suffer from having a buggy release.

This game had confusing menus and a complicated gameplay which is why I think it didn't do as good as Riot had hoped. I loved the story I played up through and will eventually return to finish it. I hope Riot keeps going in this direction with singleplayer story driven games, but fixes the flaws this game presented.
