Like I played through the first Frog Detective game earlier in the week with my friend on stream, we did this game a couple days later as well~. It took us about 2 hours to play through the game with her and I reading the voices for the characters (her as the frog once more, and me as everyone else).
It's in effect the same as the first game, but a bit bigger and a bit better. It's a first-person adventure game just as the first one was, and you talk to folks to figure out the items they want to complete the puzzles associated with them. It's a very simple thing, but that just makes it an even more effective medium to convey the silly story, which it is! The puzzles are a bit more complicated, and the writing is a bit more fun and funny than the first game.
Verdict: Recommended. It's not gonna sell anyone who wasn't a fan of the first game, but it's a very nice sequel that expands on the first game's strengths in a way I found enjoyable. This one was so fun to do, it's got me looking forward to the next one even more than the first one did~ ^w^

Another banger instalment in the Frog Detective trilogy. The first game was an excellent proof of concept and Frog Detective 2 builds on that in exactly the ways I wanted.
This time Frog Detective, still the second best detective in the agency, is tasked to find out how and why a parade in the village Warlock Wood has been ruined. Oh and that one of the denizens of the village is an Invisible Wizard.
The humour in this game is even better than the last, with the subtle dry sarcastic wit brought even further to the foreground. Although that is still a small part of the light and breezy tone the entire game has. There is even a character that is outright rude to Frog Detective and other denizens of Warlock Wood, which is as outrageous as it sounds. And what characters. The entire cast of Frog Detective 2 is more varied and vibrant compared to the first game, with a couple of them making me laugh a lot. I continue to adore this series' whole vibe.
The gameplay has been expanded upon. You actually have a notebook to keep track of who you have spoken to and what task needs to be done for each character, which was nice. Plus, it is an extra joke delivery mechanism. Additionally, there is actually some light detective work to be done by exploring the environment looking for items. You can accus people of being suspicious although this doesn't do anything, it does look cool. And to top it all off, multiple endings depending on a choice you make.
The graphics have that same simple charm to them and the jazzy score is as great as always. Frog Detective 2 is a worthy follow-up to Frog Detective 1 and it makes me wonder what the third instalment has for me. Frog Detective is going to the Wild West it seems so who knows what might happen there.
We all get a little extorted now and then.

Extremely funny and a lot more small charms than the first episode, Episode Two is a fair bit shorter than Episode One as far as actual content goes, with the player solving a single item-swapping puzzle between the various NPCs to complete the mystery. It's a solid experience that won't disappoint and is an excellent diversion for a lunch-break sized activity.
This review contains spoilers
after the first game copped out (pun intended) with a "no one did it" solution where no one learns anything, I was pleasantly surprised to see a realistic moral dilemma presented and discussed. I was fully prepared for the reveal to be "it was windy that night" however Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard had something important to say and that is GOOD
It's more of the same from the previous game. Another short, pleasant experience. Although I'd like to see there be a little bit more "detective" in these games. Not that the mysteries have to be anything serious, but using stuff like the magnifying glass and notebook to have you actually choose different options to work towards solving something. It could elevate these a good bit.
Just a short review since my thoughts from my review of the first game apply to this one as well.
With that said, you're probably looking at this because you want to know if you'll like the sequel after playing the first. If you enjoyed it, rest assured that this one is more of the same. You still go around interviewing people and fetch-questing until you solve the silly little mystery laid out before you.
All in all, it's fine, but maybe a step down in terms of the overall charm and humor of the first. That said, it works well on the Steam Deck, so bonus for that. It's cute, it's silly, and it's cheap, and sometimes that's enough. 5.5/10
