The gun crafting is absolutely the best part of this game. The rest is somewhat mediocre and repetitive, so I wouldn't recommend this if the crafting (and fighting with your crafted guns) doesn't interest you.

Once you figure out what works for you, I'd advice against rebuilding the same two guns over and over for every single mission, as that is just going to bring the mediocrity and repetitiveness into focus.

Fun game, but I was really bad at it, lol!

Good concept or being able to make custom gun layouts and stuff with each run, but NEEDLESSLY DIFFICULT. Found myself just like, dying for no reason? Could have been a lot more fun, but the difficulty really throws it off.

This game's gameplay is near immaculate, one of the most fun and intense FPS I've ever played.

That said, it's completely ABSURD on every level. Insanely hard to the point of hurting my hands. It's a roguelike that has the decency of starting you from the level you died in instead of the very beginning, but also the audacity of taking away the parts you have until you're left with nothing. On top of that, it's one of the hardest games I've ever played. I could only beat it with some WeMod cheats. Great game, but could definitely at least let me keep my parts.

Also just skip all dialogue, awful "quirky" millenial """"humor"""".

A roguelike shooter for the attention-impaired. I like the fast-pace of old-school shooters (e.g. Doom, Quake, Duke 3D), but this game is ridiculous. The combination of bright, garish, ugly colors and a million things happening at once make it impossible for me to figure out what's going on, much less get into the game. Add to that the fact that this is a roguelike with "quirky" and "funny" writing and it gets a hard pass from me.

Rating: 7.3/10 - Good

Really love the gun building elements, it's really good to just mix them like legos. the issue comes in the form of the randomized level elements and enemy design.

Me gustó la introducción (va de acuerdo con el estilo del juego ) , me gusta que inicia en medio de la acción y que te deja claro de que trata y el objetivo final desde el inicio.

Entediante, mas divertidinho

A tad bit too floaty, but the gun crafting and merging mechanics are so dope. An awesome game I'd recommend.

One of the best FPS rogue-likes I've ever played. The shear number of combinations you can make with the gun parts is what keeps me coming back. The silly dialogue between well voice acted characters doesn't hurt to. Pick this up immediately when you get a chance.

Like role-playing systems before it, roguelike elements have started creeping into more and more genres over the years. Whereas RPG-ification brought in a more tangible sense of progression, injecting games with roguelike qualities gives them a layer of unpredictability that forces players to learn its systems over memorizing level layouts. Mothergunship takes those concepts and grafts them onto the first-person shooter genre while letting players craft their own weapons. While there are better first-person shooters and better roguelikes, Mothergunship excels when it fuses the two genres and brings out the best in each.

The game can be a bit repetitive after awhile but creating fun and stupid weapong combinations that explode the whole room is amazing, really fun with coop to

average day in the united states be like

A truly unique twist on the genre even within the current zeitgeist of the indie shooter. Being able to build your own weaponry and triple jump around like a lunatic is immensely satisfying. Sadly, the charm wears off before the campaign's closure, as death is a bit too punishing. That said, the fun that IS there is well worth the price of admission.

its a fun game to pass the time, the gun building aspect is fun as well. sometimes its really difficult, im not sure if thats due to the fact that the levels are randomly generated

This was a very fun experience. I finished the campaign but didn't do much after. I wish this game had more bosses but nevertheless it was still a blast to play through.

I might be the only person on the planet who isn't willing to saw off 50% of their arms for more Ultrakill, but in contrast to Mothergunship I kinda understand the admiration. The gun customization is Mothergunship's flagship feature, where making your way through a level is as much about your movement as it is about your ability to create the nastiest frankengun on the planet, grafting dozens of barrels onto a monstrosity whose weight rivals that of a mid-sized battleship.

And sure, it's fun for a brief while to vomit a whole Vampire Survivors worth of bullets at your foes, but in doing so you've already discovered the game's winning strategy - more bullet, more victory. Certain projectile types might be better at dealing with certain threats, but these are not Ultrakill's tightly designed encounters, so you're highly unlikely to receive pushback that meaningfully encourages experimentation in this one. Similarly, the game's heavy usage of familiar weapon types (shotgun, gatling gun, grenade launcher) without any clever twists limits the creativity and depth of strategy the player can employ. I'm not asking for shameless rip-offs of Ultrakill's ricochet coin or punching your own shotgun pellets - although I'd welcome it - but opening up more opportunities for player interaction outside of Mouse1 + Mouse2 might single-handedly make this game into a cult classic.

Overcommitting to the concept of 100% customizable guns leaves us with holding down/spam clicking m1+m2 as the dominant strategy. Cooldowns and shot delay aren't significant enough for much any thought to be put into when you shoot, and spread effects are significant enough for little thought to be put into where you shoot. Somewhat satisfying at the start but honestly just play ultrakill please

A unique gun crafting system and goofy tone can't prop up all the boring and dysfunctional aspects, at least for me :(. At the time of reviewing the multiplayer is completely non functional and has been since launch.

For those who played Tower of Guns, you might know where are you going for by playing MOTHERGUNSHIP.

But for this one, the story and the characters are cranked up to eleven. Lots of funny conversations and jokes, tied up with a good gameplay and a nice "build your own weapon" mechanic, where your shots uses energy (you have a energy bar for each hand, try to balance the energy usage as much as possible), so you can create big-ass weapons with this.

If you want to have uncompromised fun, go with this!
