The levels were great, but as the game is old now, nobody plays it anymore, so I had to play most of it in single-player mode. The game's weapons feel great to shoot, but the gameplay can get repetitive. From what I have heard, Left 4 Dead 2 is a better game and includes all missions from this game.

Genre originator, a game seemingly handcrafted for bored Jr High / High school students with a lean video game allowance and nothing better to do.
It's Left 4 Dead 2 with weaker game feel and fewer campaigns, specials, etc. I still like it, but it can be hard to come back to since pretty much all the content was later bundled into L4D2.

Probably one of the best co-op games ever made (alongside L4D2), it was so unique at the time, there's still nothing as good as it is. The survivors are great, the music is great, the gameplay is great, even the versus mode is great as well. I remember it was scary as fuck when I was a kid haha.

played this game for the first time back in 2010, after watching my brother play it was very entertaining. when i first played it, probably back in the 2010s. i was just getting myself into it! now, that im older, i understand that this one game had changed my perspective on horror/zombie related games. probably one of the best releases in 2009. ramping up on the difficulties, it definitely gets harder when you first play it but superrrr fun to play with.
This is the game that got me to start using subtitles. My friend suggested it in order to know if a witch was nearby. Best decision ever. Also, would recommend 1v1-ing a witch every once in awhile.

O que eu pensava que era um jogo muito divertido com um design maestro típico da Valve e criador de tendências, se mostrou mais genial ainda quando compreendi os sistemas de randomização e como cada coisinha faz os jogadores agirem como o jogo quer sem perceberem. Nós já jogamos Back 4 Bçood, e aquele foi nosso Skywalker Saga pro The Complete Saga que é esse jogo.

never cared a whit for versus or the competition that arises from it but the campaigns are so good. such good characterisation of its small cast so fast, each likable with dialogue that makes them bounce off each other easily, and good visual design too. the levels are, for the most part, well designed and interesting to go through. i think some of these levels blend it together quite a lot which is a shame as it takes away from some of the personality, but thats a pretty minor complaint. dead air is just like, amazing, even the individual levels within that campaign are good. the three special infected are all distinct and interesting, always fun to deal with. good great fun! playing this online and forking around will never not be funny
fun to go back to L4D2 after this and see the formula just improved upon with more item variety and special infected. gravy

Left 4 Dead (2008): El orígen de una brillante experiencia cooperativa. Lamento haber jugado el 2 antes porque éste se siente la misma experiencia pero sin refinar. La IA aliada es más pocha y es bastante más corto, pero su excelente diseño hace brillar al conjunto (7,75)
Even though Left 4 Dead 2 contains the entirety of Left 4 Dead 1's campaign levels, complete with all the bells and whistles the sequel brought with it, there's still a case to be made for playing through the original Left 4 Dead as the devs originally intended — no melee weapons, fewer fourth wall breaks, and no grenade launchers.
Also you shouldn't be buying either game on their own. Buy the Valve Complete Pack on sale for like $10
