a big part of my childhood, very good

Really amazing. All the levels are fun. All the weapons are fun and useful. Charge Shots are really fun to use, but the weapons all have their uses. The bosses are really fun. The levels look great. The music is alright and the game kind of drags on near the end, but I like the plot.

The amount of emotion this game can create out of the player from it just being on a Game Boy Advance is astonishing. Although it is more streamlined than other Metroid titles, I don't see that as a negative as long as you go in aware of that. The story gives reason for more streamlined sections and exploration never felt neutered from that decision.

This story may be the best one in the series, with many horror beats and creating an antagonist that is there to simply torment you throughout. The sequences with the SA-X are extremely hard to predict when they will come which adds tremendously to the tension. I understand how some can say the pacing at the start feels slow but it never bothered me, the tension and environment of the world always captivated me enough that it never dragged, and when it gets going, it never slows down.

I can't say many more amazing things besides this is my favorite game of all time. I could give more technical details, the sprite work is amazing, bosses and upgrades are a blast, music is phenomenal, it feels amazing to play on the GBA, which I do think is the best way to play it. But at the end of the day, I like it just because it gives me such a unique experience and resonates so deeply with me in a way I can't really describe. Hoping for a remake one day for the music alone.

Doom

2016

Solid game. Great music, and a shotgun. What more could you want?

This is the first DOOM game I ever played, but it makes me want to play more. Fun enemy design, great combat arenas, fantastic gameplay systems, and overall the most fun I've ever had in an FPS.

To whoever designed Collision chaos, what is your favorite perc?

I’m happy to replay this game because I like it a lot more now.

This is a very divisive game for many people. It’s one that people either can’t stand or find a lot to appreciate about it. overall I admire this game a lot.

First off visually this is imo the best of the classic series. It’s a vibrant game with some of the oddest and coolest looking zones of the whole series. Honestly I love the trippy colorful look of this game. Not only showing off the power of an add on no one cared about but to experiment and make this game stand out among the series. Many zones stood out to me after playing even I didn’t know 100% what they even were trying to represent. Like wtf is wacky workbench REALLY. Seriously visuals are very nice.
Music is great as well and is currently tied with 2 as my favorite ost of the classic series.
Speaking about the JP soundtrack I haven’t heard the American one.

So the level design is the big divisive part of the game. I’ll admit it’s a bit of a mess compared to other classic sonic games. It definitely doesn’t offer the same type of speedy platforming of 2 and 3. But this time around is a lot bigger and more focused on exploration. I’ll admit I do prefer the style of 2 and 3 but I still find this game to be very fun in its own right. It’s more of a traditional platformer designed with sonic in mind rather than full on speed stages back to back. I do enjoy it though and something about the big chaotic level design gives this game a unique identity compared to other games. Also the big addition to the game is the time travel mechanics. I greatly enjoyed these a lot actually. The big exploration heavy level design with the added time travel mechanics I think makes this game feel very expansive and I think the whole time travel quest adds a lot to the game. On top of that offering different versions of the same levels.

Even if I do understand and agree with a lot of detractors of this game, I still really enjoy it. It’s cool way to change up the sonic formula and even if I don’t like it the same way as 2 or 3 I think it’s fun in its own way.
Just a pretty cool game idk. It’s a mess but it’s my favorite kind of mess.

This game created Metal Sonic and Amy shut up it’s pretty cool.

Light 4/5

Just an absolute classic. Felt fresh compared to the more recent in the series. Also the minigames in this game slapped. A whole lot of nostalgia for this game, but even without that it's awesome.

I prefer this over the SNES original for it's quality of life improvements, like being able to save anywhere and the life count doesn't reset after shutting the game off. The boss fights are also improved.

That being said, this is still Donkey Kong Country, which means it still inherits some issues from the original. While some bonus barrels are now clearly visible, some stuff remains cryptic. Ropey Rampage still features that offscreen barrel that leads to the bonus room, and the bonus within bonus in Oil Drum Alley is still the worst. The game is still frustrating at times, with some trial and error. Not only that, this remake adds its own issues. A little bit of screen crunch is probably expected, but my issue is the new collectible required for the completion: the photos. Some of them are just lying around, but most of them you get by destroying certain enemies in a certain way, but it's not clear which enemies and in what way you're supposed to defeat to get the photos. This is something DKC2GBA improves upon, by having certain enemies have a photo float over them and defeating them will give you said photos, and the game also offers in-game hints on where to find them. I had to whip out a video playthrough to find obscure bonuses, but I still have to find some of those photos, which is why I haven't 101%ed it yet (now I did, but I had to whip out an official guide, I wouldn't have figured out that, for example, you have to clear all levels in a world as Diddy or Donkey gives a respective photo).

That being said though, I still had some enjoyment playing this game, but it didn't age as well as the later entries. If you didn't enjoy original Donkey Kong Country, you won't enjoy this remake, but if you did, then I can highly recommend this one. It'll still provide you with decent time.

Another hidden gem on the N64. This mission-based platformers is pretty engrossing. You play as this electronic spider that can possess other electronic animals on this planet. Each level throws you into a space where you have to complete multiple objectives. I love the humour; it's dry, witty, and super British. My favourite animals to control are the vultures, elephants, laughing hyenas, and penguins. Best world is probably the snow world, but the jungle has some great puzzle solving as well. The final world, the desert, is the weakest and at this point the gameplay is less enjoyable. The level design in the desert feels rushed and less inspired than the rest of the game. The bonus stages are horrendous. Screw that goddamn flying level and the shooting gallery. Those levels are true patience-testers. I like the music and I love how it's diegetic. There are speakers throughout the stages, so you know where the music is coming from. I love the collect-a-thon aspect, particularly figuring out how to get the trophies. The bonus level for collecting all the trophies is underwhelming though. Highly recommend playing this quirky game if you're into platformers.

Best Parts:
• Most of the snow levels
• The mission where you destroy all the speakers
• King Rat mission
• The design of the sheep

Replay It? - Yes

SO GOOD! One of the hidden gems of the N64. Is true that the graphics are pretty underwhelming, but the core concept, the amount of variety and the surreal but fun levels make it so great! Also is very hilarious and you can't deny that the main story is as ridiculous as original. Really worth it.
