This game has a very interesting story and atmosphere, I actually really like the main gimmick of the time loop as well. It's not without it's faults though, the online invader encounters are really poorly designed, and the AI actually feels much dumber than past Arkane games. On one hand I haven't been this engaged in a videogame story in a very long time, but on the other hand the whole game began to feel a little annoying and trivial towards the end. There's still fun to be had despite all of that. Especially the kicking. Kicking people is so much fun in this game.

For what this is, it's perfect. They've tweaked the formula to work for a full length game, while adding tricks and mechanics to keep things fresh, the essence of the original titles is still front and center. The levels and soundtrack are incredible, and the game plays smoother than ever. It could be seen as a modest package, and it is for a niche group of people, but it's more refined, polished, and fun than 80% of the indie games I've ever played.

It was very difficult for me to imagine a 2D skating game being interesting, or carrying any sort of player expression, but they did it! There is a satisfying timing aspect to every motion (including landing) that pushes the pace of the game into ADHD territory (this is a positive). The soundtrack is awesome as well.

I'd consider myself a fairly "optimistic" gamer, but this game is really just shovelware. It's free so it's hard to be upset but there are better free games so even that can't stand as an argument. Definitely does not feel like a game, not even an unfinished one. In a way I suppose that's marginally better than shipping a "finished" title that's complete ass. There is some sort of "student project-first game prototype" charm this game exudes that I suppose helps it to elude my outright frustration. The creators, whoever they are, their heart was in the right place, that's all you can ask for. Their inspirations are apparent, and are all more or less AAA titles with infinitely more funding than they have. It's admirable really, it embodies the human spirit. The notion of trying against impossible odds to express yourself, and to be known.

To be knowin this game is trash.

Look what they've done to my boy...

This is a horror tactical fps fishing simulator puzzle biopunk game that will give you a CEO grindset. It made me laugh, it made me nervous, and it actually made me nauseous. I really have to applaud the cohesive ps1 fleshworld acid trip nightmare atmosphere that's created in this game. Very rarely is a game with so much style also packed with substance. 10/10 would have my divine light severed again.

Certainly not for everyone, but it's pretty fun as a sandbox game. It's rewarding to come up with a ridiculous plan of attack for an objective and try to execute it. The story, however, is painfully uninteresting and performance is very poor on every platform.

(Multiplayer review) Aside from the audio issues and typical ftp monetization, this is prime halo. This is the first time since reach released where I'm counting the hours till I can jump into big team battle with my buds.

This game's really special. There are influences coming in from everywhere stylistically, like some blend of James bond and Saturday morning cartoons. The game pays homage to the first in the series while pushing things in a new, more open direction. It all comes together to make something fun, with a unique identity and character. Some parts of the game drag on, but I played this in 2021 and I really do think it's one of the best ps2 games I've ever played.

Beautiful remaster, but playing it alongside banjo and sly cooper this past year, I have to say there's less charm for me here. The third game is also plagued with tedious mini-games, but I gotta give the games credit for their level design and cool 100% rewards.

I was pretty consistently marveling at how well put together and fun this game is. It really pushes those simple pleasure buttons in my brain. Has very dynamic and theme-park esque environments to interact with, though I don't feel a need to replay it, I had a blast.

Beautifully animated and (with one exception) very well balanced. Something about the quick restarts and fun aesthetic of the game prevented the rage that usually accompanies games that are this hard. It's a tad formulaic, but it's a boss rush game, that's how it goes.

There is a lot I could say about this underworld grim reaper-noir game, but to keep it short: the storytelling and atmosphere are incredible. I first played this years after release, so there's really no nostalgia talking, this is just a fantastic experience that completely sucked me in.

There is something prominently lifeless about this game. It contains exactly what it needs to to be considered an entry in the series but... it's just so much less fun than the others. Mini games are sterile and short. The board's gimmicks are also pretty boring, which would be fine if there were more than 4 of them.

It may be a little clunky by today's standards but this game oozes character and charm. The level design is so tight and deliberate, and the soundtrack dynamically changes based on where you are in each stage. The underwater segments suck pretty hard but that can be said of every game of this era, at least you can usually breeze through them. I literally smile every time I load this shit up.
