Why do you people hate it so much

The pinnacle of Metal Gear Solid. Experiencing it without knowning anything about MGS, you're lost and you can't play it to its full potential. But after playing all MGS games, what's in there is so close to GOAT tier. The overall hazy, onirical vibe of the story. The way the timeline ties together. The use of the inferior version of The Man who Sold the World. All of it oozes style.

If the game was like the Midgar section all the way throughout, it would be a Top-Tier RPG. But everything about that Sephiroth fellow keeps dragging the story down
