was super excited to play a game directed by both Uchikoshi and Kodaka and the music in this game slaps, the dialogue is cheesy but endearing, the characters are fun, the sun and moon character designer worked on this and it shows, and the story is above average with some minor issues. so you'd think i liked this game right? well uh Unfortunately, it's got straight up some of the worst gameplay and level design i've played in recent memory to the point where it made a short game take me almost a whole year to beat cause i was getting so annoyed and didnt wanna come back to it
over the last few weeks i was stubborn tho and decided i WOULD beat it and so i did! & yeah uh this game kinda sucks. i hate to admit that when it's made by two of my fave directors but the story isn't amazing enough to make up for the fact that the game is clunky w bad design :(

does it look bad? yes quite often. does it run like garbage? constantly. is it one of the worst games ive played in forever on a technical level? 300%
but holy shit it's so fun, and the writing is so good, and the designs are so good, and idk i just love pokémon man

hated how this played SO much, frequently felt frustrated with Samus' floaty physics. but the atmosphere is maybe the best in any game, the music and visuals are incredible and honestly I can't dislike this game as much as I want to despite spending most of my time getting annoyed at it
has everything I loved about super metroid plus better controls and physics. one of my favourite games of all time.
REALLY loved this charming little mystery game, very clearly more AA inspired than Layton inspired but it's so nice. very cozy murder mystery with great writing and characters. not a big fan of the split personality trope, and not sure how tastefully handled it is (but wouldn't be surprised if it's agreed that it's not), but otherwise, I simply adored this a lot

0/10 boss fights 9/10 everything else. incredible atmosphere and loved the story, but the space station got boring by the end and the boss fights were dreadful and significantly ruined the experience for me

almost a perfect game and easily one of my fave games on the switch. between this and AM2R for my favourite Metroid
perfect controls, looks gorgeous, is hard as hell, great boss fights (finally!), great map design and I liked the story
wish the music was better (it's Fine, it's functional), wish the lava didn't look so bad, and also I did the speed boost input wrong and that's not my fault nothing's ever my fault

the repetition of routes really really really ruins this otherwise beautiful masterpiece of a game

i hate sticky platforms, a lot of the dlc is overtuned, the single player modes suck, i wish the game had landing lag on aerials, and i wish isabelle and ganon were good
but this game is an absolute love letter to game history and to Nintendo, and it's so fun to play competitively with friends. it's incredible how they managed to cram so many stages and characters and songs into one game. i love this game a lot, and respect it even more

i grew up w Layton on the DS so this was an absolute nostalgia trip, i love how gorgeous this looked & sounded in HD, and even though i apparently remembered EVERY twist it still was great cause this game is a master of foreshadowing and it was neat seeing how it all builds up to the reveals
logic puzzles im godlike at, fuck the maths ones and REALLY fuck the sliding block ones 🔥🔥💯💯💯
i find the funny sausage man funny and this game oozes charm. onto playing pandora on my 3ds because i somehow still own that! ill miss the HD
