This is such a beauty of a little game. The tiny interactions in the world are so cute and make it feel lived in, while also making you want explore every last inch. It feels so satisfying to finally reach the peak, even if it only took an hour. This is a very short game. But its worth the expireince you get from it.

Ive honestly talked about this game so much that I dont even know what to say. Incredible characters. Incredibly subversive. Fantastic story. Insanely good music. Way more stuff. One day Ill write a more extensive review of this but I dont feel like writing over 1000 words right now lol. In conclusion, my favorite game of all time. 10/10.

This has to be my favorite 2D platformer of all time, and that’s coming from a huge Mario nerd. It has brilliant level design, using only a few main mechanics and just building and building on them. The movement feels fantastic, and I love that certain tech was implemented into the game. I also love just how difficult this game is, while still having great accessibility options. Beating the game is a challenge, but definitely possible, and if you can’t do that there’s the assist mode, which to me is the best an accessibility option has ever been handled in a video game so far. And if you want more challenge than the base game has to offer, then there’s the b and c sides. I’m not one for 100% games, but Celeste was just that damn good. It was one of the most satisfying experiences I’ve had in gaming when I finished farewell. The story is also great, and while it’s not the main reason I love this game, it’s great, dealing with anxiety and struggle. I really love Madeline struggling in a very similar way that the player does. My final thing Id like to mention is that the soundtrack slaps.
