For a 3DS survival horror game I thoroughly enjoyed it (I'm not a Resi fan, this is the first one I've actually completed, I'm halfway through 4 and 5 rn).
Thought the story was interesting enough for me to complete and I enjoyed the characters. Characters were admittedly, like, flat? They had personality but it didn't feel like it was emphasized enough.
Gameplay was the fun part for me. I played on New 3DS with the c-stick for about halfway through before getting sick of it being barely responsive and the default controls feel great. I will admit it took me till the final boss of the game to learn how to dodge attacks.
Map was dumb. I liked going through the ship but it sucked how back and forth the game was with it's layout, every time there was a new environment I was genuinely excited because I got to get out of the damn ship environment.
But yeah, for what it was and given the console it was on, I enjoyed it.

Great remaster for a great game. Love the aesthetic, gameplay, level-design, weapons, etc.
Later levels tend to spam a bunch of spongey enemies and you'll eventually start to see no weak ones at all which I felt was a shame since the enemy variety just felt bleh in the later levels.
I can't stand the jumping blob enemy and they spam so many in the last few levels.
The music was great and atmospheric, Trent Reznor did a great job with it and I love it.
Now I played this immediately after playing Half-life cause I wanted more old-school 3D shooter and it just felt like more of that but with a doom-y arena shooter vibe to it rather than the slight survival horror styled arena shooter that half life was (which half-life was made with the quake engine). It was great and I enjoyed it.
As for my console of choice I really just wanted to play Quake portably but that doesn't mean I can't use keyboard and mouse on it if I wanted to. Nightdive made a great choice implementing K&M to the console versions, especially since they kept deathmatch in the game. Also crossplay between all the consoles and PC is super sweet. On top of all that having DLC of fan mods was a really sweet edition I wouldn't have expected from this on consoles. Lets me play more Quake if I really want to.
To wrap things up, this is a great way to play Quake on modern platforms and that's all it needed to be, and then some.

As of writing this review I've only beaten Ventus' route and I really liked it, fun game. Kinda hated the Command Board but playing against Cinderella and spamming Stun and Double Dice made that part of the game more bearable. I will do Terra and Aqua's routes too at some point but it really just seems like playing through the game two more times and that's not really appealing to me at the moment.
I liked the shotlock stuff but the D-Links feel very pointless to me outside of an occasional full heal which I can just get from Curaga so idk, never used them outside of messing around but like gettting rid of my main deck for a weaker deck just didn't feel good.
Corny writing but that's kinda one of the appeals of KH and I liked it.
PSP an old console at this point so I expected some slowdown but this game can chug at times and I thought that was FUNNY.
Again, good and fun game.

Genuinely one of the best 2D sidescroller collections of all time. Great gameplay, music, story, character design, etc.
BMZ1 is just straight up a goodass video game. It's a little hard to talk about in depth because it was just a simple remake that Inti made more special by setting up a little bit for potential sequels.
BMZ2 takes what made 1 so good and expands on it in so many ways from not only the gameplay but the universe design as a whole spanning multiple planets. I say planets, but it's just different themed zones. So the whole adventure feels grand without it feeling bloated. Although traversal between planets can be a little annoying it's not such a big deal, but when you have to get from one side of the universe to another it can be a little dumb.
BMZ3 kind of takes a little bit of a step back from 2's universe travel by making the zones separated by teleports which I honestly felt it was a good change since if I need to get to one zone I just teleport and boom I'm there. Z3 is arguably my favorite purely because of the story because oh my god, I cry like a BABY every time I play this game. It is so emotional for me and it feels like the apex of what the first two games set up. Absolutely phenomenal.
While the game's story is finished they do set up the potential for another game which I have been waiting patiently for, but if it weren't to get a 4th game I would be completely fine with that.

This game is so good as a rhythm game and arguably like the best console release of Groove Coaster in general. Like the only other option we have is the Steam/iOS versions and those are DOOKIE but I've sunk a lot of hours into this and it's just great.
Although the actual appeal of the levels being a neat music video does hurt my eyes sometimes and makes some Expert difficulty songs just painful.
