The GBA kicking butts.
I wonder if someday we will see this saga once again.

2001

White, really white people escaping black, really black people and hitting them with sticks.

Don't take me serious.

Revolutionary for its time.
And still very fun to play.
I will never forget the very first moment when the Flood appears. That was so unexpected.

Solid first entry of one of my favorite sagas. The use of a camera to see and combat the "unseen" is an original idea.
Great atmosphere and some good jump-scares. And awesome character models for the time.
The sequels are far better, though.

I love the concept of mixing Final Fantasy-like characters with Disney legends. The idea is phenomenal. But the execution is terrible.
For the time this game came out, there were already some solid 3D action/platforming games to take inspiration from, and the PS2 doesn't lacks the power to create great worlds. Despite of this, the level design in this game is terrible; barren and lifeless most of the time, not to mention that it doesn´t feels connected at all. Each area is more like a set of scattered rooms. It doesn't feels like I'm part of a Disney movie. It feels like I'm part of the filming of a cheap rip-off of a Disney movie inside a garage. Gameplaywise, the platforming is decent but the combat turns braindead and boring so quickly. And if you tell me "use the magics and all the other stuff", I say "why?" if the main attack works just fine, and almost nothing encourages me to switch combat styles.
And this may be only me, but when I reach the end of one level, I expect a great ending for the story from that world (movie) you just completed, but I feel that each story ends in a vey low key, every time.

The story is good. But the writing and narrative are just terrible. I can buy is a "kid/teenager oriented game" but man, there is a lot to get right in here.
The emotions this game transmit are at most "artificially flavored", compared with many other emotional plots, as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy IX, or Final Fantasy VI just to name a few.
Even after finishing Kingdom Hearts 2, I find more of the same. The level design is slightly better and it has some of the best character models and animations the PS2 has to offer, but that's all I noticed, and I swear I had A LOT of expectations on the sequel.
As far as I see, this series is hold up by nostalgia and popularity of the main concept, which is pretty good. But nothing else.
To end in a positive note, I'm amazed about the animations and character designs. Among the best you can find in the PS2 back in 2002. That is impressive.

I suck at SoulCalibur games, but I don't care. This thing is very fun.

Not my kind of game.
I'm aware it is good, but definitively not my kind of game.

I like so much the protagonists' personalities and their interactions, and the main villain and Qwark are hilarious. The whole game presentation and humor are so enjoyable, and the gameplay meet the expectations. Feels like Banjo-Kazooie with guns.
Fun and original, with a little confusing level design from time to time. Or maybe I was a lot more stupid when I played it. Who knows.

They spoiled me the end.

Don't let them spoil you the end.

A huge improvement over the old Ys formula. Pretty fun to play, with simple but gorgeous graphics and (as always) with a terrific soundtrack.
The story is somewhat underwhelming at the end, but manages to keep your attention through all the journey, and brings a lot of details about the mysterious "winged ones".
A very solid and fun experience.

A lot better than you may expect. The tracks are pretty good and the controls are really thigh, which is very important as the difficulty ramps up a lot towards the end.
Also, the postcards that the Weasels send you in the story mode are a cool detail.

Tetris Attack is a wonderful game. Fast, thrilling and challenging. Crossing it with Pokémon is a weird thing to do.
But it worked pretty well!
I love this game. Played it to death during summer time long ago. Still a great experience to replay nowadays.

Can't believe how much hate this game gets from some people. Yes, the collectibles are everywhere and it takes a lot of backtracking to get them all, but you don't need to get'em all. Not if you are not enjoying it...

My favorite game in the series, as it also has some of the best mini-games: Bombs Away, Shy Guy Says, Slot Car Derby, Filet Relay, Hexagon Heat, Hot Rope Jump, Bowser's Big Blast and FREAKING Bumper Balls! No wonder a lot of them are back in Mario party Superstars. Not to mention that the boards are also great.
Really fun to play even today.

This game (and its predecessor) feels like a real adventure from start to finish. Exploring deep, forgotten underground ruins, fighting pirates, flying trough the skies on your ship, helping and defending the townspeople, scavenging and equipping weapons that really feels like you have them equipped on your body, changing your gameplay a lot. Great presentation and pretty good graphics. A fantastic game overall.
