I'm curious, has using rest mode on ps5 been an issue for people? I'm surprised since it seemed to work fine on ps4
In short, yes it is and has been a problem since launch: https://www.looper.com/449012/is-it-safe-to-put-your-ps5-in-rest-mode/
If you're a reddit guy there are months and months of discussion trying to figure it out because apparently Sony can't! Pretty cool!

Specifically, my system would randomly crash if I let it go into rest mode from being idle - it would not recognize the controller when I tried to turn it back on and have to rebuild it's whatever like I had unplugged it while in use. Eventually it just didn't turn on at all after one of these episodes. I later learned that this is a documented issue and the only solution is to just flat out not use rest mode (the industry-standard QOL feature on my brand new $600 machine).
Damn that sucks bro
I've been using my rest mode incessantly since I got the machine (sometime December). I wonder if it's a luck of the draw type deal, like the whole coil whine thing (mine can be mighty loud sometimes).
that's terrible, I'll keep this in mind for when i eventually get one
@EightwinD Yeah, it must be just not a thing for most people, it's common but by no means universal. I think you just gotta watch out for it turning off by itself/crashing while in rest mode, and stop using rest mode if you notice that.
I once lost a bunch of save data because I forgot to check that all my save were on cloud storage before I moved to a PS4 Pro, I think MK 11 progression is tied to the account because all I lost were my settings. All my custom variations and unlocked gear and skins were still there and the character towers I finished didn't reset. I do feel your pain losing a musou save though, that's a lot of lost time.
Nice, some possible good news for MK11, thanks for that
no problem, good luck!
And oops it looks like the firmware update that came out while my PS5 was in the shop for a month also gave my controller joystick drift. Extremely good!!!
