So pretentious but so wonderful.

I rarely buy video game merch, but I bought a tshirt for this game. Definitely one of my favorite games ever.

2017

I wanted to love this so badly but ultimately the core gameplay loop started getting too repetitive for me. The story and the characters and the art and narration and music is all 10/10 Supergiant Games quality.

2022

Combat was not my favorite but otherwise this game was wonderful and I can highly recommend it.

Side quests are mostly a waste of time. Weather system is annoying and not explained well at the beginning. Combat encounters are almost never worth fighting if you can run away. I think a lot of the open world aspects are done poorly.

HOWEVER, the puzzles rooms are really fun. The game is gorgeous. The 4 walking temple things are super fun. The climbing and gliding is really fun. I played the game basically non-stop and loved it. It is a very flawed game in a lot of ways but the good is so good it outweighs the bad.

The earlier puzzles are a little too easy. You almost cannot do anything but accidentally solve them. However the game play is so clever and the later puzzles are a good challenge so ultimately I really loved it.

I have spent hundred upon hundreds of hours playing this.

Hate it. Terrible controls and mechanics. Some of the ugliest character graphics ever put to the screen. Totally uninteresting world. Auto-scaling combat is so badly designed and thought out that I literally had to scrap a character and start over because they couldn't even defeat basic enemies.

Mechanically, another trainwreck from the designers at Bethesda. Fooled me twice Bethesda. I have never and will never buy a Bethesda game again after Oblivion and this one.

It is a good game and a fun gimmick but I didn't feel the need to finish.

Fun but a tiny bit too repetitive for me.

Great concept well executed. If pinball metroidvania sounds like something you would like, this is a must-try.

Just horrible. It was so buggy and laggy it was barely playable and even if that was all fixed, it still would have been a mediocre Diablo ripoff.

It is a great implementation of the game. Having said that, Magic has a terrible mana system that frequently decides games in an unsatisfactory way and this implementation has super predatory pricing.

The plot was bizarre and depressing and tedious. I wish this had been a pure first person puzzler and had not been overstuffed with this mediocre narrative element. Puzzles were fun. Would still tentatively recommend to hardcore first person puzzle enthusiasts like myself.
