Titles that disturb the tummy and the mind, perhaps entirely, perhaps in part. You probably shouldn't play most of these.
By no means a blanket condemnation (I, for one, like a good chunk of these), more that some aspect of these titles is abjectly upsetting.

Personally I find very little of its intentionally offensive subject matter to be tummy-turning, but little things like being reminded of miscarriages, harlequin babies, fistulas, and general reproductive complications sometimes breaks through my shell.

Apparently the animation work and its corresponding reference materials gave some developers PTSD, which makes how visceral the game is border on the hyperreal.

While I don't keep a backlog, The Void is high up on my list of games to actively engage with so I'll be taking a gander at it sooner rather than later o7

Dig the wording and explanation of the list being a bit more value neutral, also obviously trust your discernment more to keep it even than a lot of lists of that type. Maybe if this reaches high enough data volume I'll pull from it and make a list of 'Grosteque I actually like' cuz I really like Lisa and The Citadel for example (and probably the Void if I get far enough).
I remember finding Isaac gameplay when I was a kid.
No other game has filled me with such sensation of pure terror and sadness (the story and cinematics where INCREDIBLY dark and still are). And depite all of that I love it, I obviously shouldn't have discovered at such a young age, but it ended up being the reason I like rogue-likes and seing dark topics covered in media (in a good, senseful way).
I hold this game very dearly, but the poor kid needs a break...

Also I don't know what Real Play is but that Cover art alone it's so repulsive that I'm thankful not knowing anything about it.
