Surpassed by its sequel, but still pretty heckin' tight.

Atmospheric as hell, and just plain enjoyable. The controls can feel clunky, especially at first.

The first Battle Network is a very average game. It's short, the depth of later games hasn't come into play yet, and the post-game hi-jinks that keep people playing aren't here yet either. Due credit for introducing a damn fine battle system though.

Conker's is more of an elaborate lowbrow comedy sketch than a real video game. The "game" part works well enough, but the selling point of Conker's Bad Fur Day was always the degenerate humor of its cutscenes. The multiplayer also deserves some credit for being a lot better than it has any right to be.

These two games, with the exception of Link Between Worlds, represent the best of 2D Zelda, and I commend Capcom for knocking it out of the park with these. Items and dungeons are more thoughtful and involved than Link to the Past or Link's Awakening, and unlike with Koholint neither of these overworlds are obnoxious, tangled nightmares. Holodrum and Labrynna possess roughly as much charm as Koholint, though some people just cannot get over the absence of chain chomps.

My nephew had this game at one point. It was okay.

Runescape is a game where you do something pointless over and over again in order to get better at the pointless thing so that you can brag to your friends about how good you are at the pointless thing, rather than doing any of that in real life and developing any kind of actual skills or having any meaningful experiences. So basically it's exactly like most other video games.

I played this in the hospital when I had surgery. I don't know if it comforts me or just makes me anxious.

I got this in a bargain bin for like $2. It wasn't worth it.

As a kid I basically played Stadium 2 instead of the actual Gen 2 games. Basically the exact same thing as Stadium 1 but with more Pokemon and a few other bells and whistles. Might be 4 stars if it didn't constantly cheat.

An interesting dungeon crawler with a pretty bomb-ass soundtrack. Features cool town building stuff and some of the first QTEs that I'm aware of. Can be a little janky.

Roughly as good as 2. The battle mode stuff is interesting, and there are some great minigames in this one.

A hell of a lot more ambitious than Banjo Kazooie, which leaves it with a lot more imperfections. As they say though, nothing ventured, nothing gained, and Banjo Tooie is the bigger, fatter, grander sequel that everyone asked for... for better or for worse.
