Steam Deck Experiences
Thanks to this device, I've managed to play a lot more games and more often than usual.
With that said, wanted to make a list of how various titles run on it from personal experience and tweaks that can be used to improve performance/experience.
Entries will be updated regularly as I play more PC games, hard to emulate experiences.
Down to take recommendations or experiences following the format too.

Settings: DX12, all low (might be able to push more), 80% resolution scale for a bit more headway when shit hits the fan, native 16:10 resolution
Specific proton requirement: None, no tweaks needed
Performance: Solid 60 most of the time with drops pretty often when a lot of bugs and effects on screen but never drastic nor below 45 fps

Settings: DX11, mix of high and medium settings, 720p 16:9
Specific proton requirement: Latest proton should be fine, if it doesn't work use GE-proton
Performance: Solid 30fps (can be pushed to 40 but didn't feel like the game needed it) with the most taxing moments being exploring the town
Recommended

Settings: maxed out, 720p 16:9
Specific proton requirement: GE-proton was used (any version should be fine) but apparently works with default steam proton right off the bat.
Performance: 60 fps with pretty frequent drops to 35-45 fps at times when the game has no right to be. Cutscenes are also missing audio but can be circumvented somewhat with subtitles.
Not Recommended due to the drops kind of ruining the experience for probably most people but if you can put up with it then go for it.

Settings: maxed out, 720p 16:9
Specific proton requirement: GE-proton (any recent version should work but 7-31 was used)
Performance: solid 60 with few rare drops to 54-58 range when a lot is going on, cutscenes are still lacking audio sadly
Recommended only due to the fact that it doesn't stutter as much as the previous game but no audio in cutscenes might be a complete dealbreaker

Settings: medium settings, 16:10 (with a fan made fix)
Specific proton requirement: used GE-proton 7-31
Performance: Pretty taxing as the game couldn't run at a full 60 fps, ended up capping it to 30 fps to maintain battery life and felt that it wasn't needed in a turn based game, something to note is that some effects are missing from my experience in the sabbaths
Recommended, definitely playable but a better experience if you put in more tweaks

Settings: maxed settings, 16:10 native
Specific proton requirement: None, no tweaks needed (recent update adding 2K launcher might change this)
Performance: 60 fps across the board with pretty good battery life.
A huge word of warning with this game is that saving the game will likely crash the game as well making you not only unable to save your progress but losing your previous save making you lose hours of progress. Alternating between manual and auto saving will help mostly circumvent this but still extremely tedious.
Not recommended unless you can deal with saving frequently

Settings: shadow resolution at 2048x2048, 2x AA, 720p 16:9
Specific proton requirement: None, no tweaks needed
Performance: game is still unable to reach 60 fps due to optimization and without the ff13 fix, it fails to even reach 45 at times, there is slowdown at every start of a battle but it's almost instant in finishing so never impacts the flow of battle. Mainly at a 40 fps lock but can play for 5 hours on a full charge.
Recommended (surprisingly)

Status: Completed (half on Steam Deck, half on a desktop)
Settings: mostly low settings, bigger text size, 720p, FSR 2.0 on Quality
Specific proton requirement: used GE-proton 7-43
Performance: 30 fps 70% of the time but driving or using ziplines along with timefall can drop frames to the 20s or even the teens for a while. Reducing TDP to 13 and reducing the GPU speed to 900 can improve performance and battery life a bit but it can't do that much but something to keep in mind.
Recommended but the drops during driving are something to look out for.

Specific proton requirement: N/A
Performance: Runs perfect but you have to disable depth emulation for good performance otherwise it'll run terribly

Performance: solid 60 fps 95% of the time with the occasional dropped frame or two, one time that framerate dropped considerably was during one of the final levels but lowering settings temporarily fixes that. Game felt made for the deck barring that honestly.
