If we are talking base DOOM games and not any additional content like Plutonia in Final DOOM, this is probably my favorite game to date from the franchise. I really, really love how they handled this game from a sound design and artistic perspective. It changed the normal DOOM formula to something I think it fares better as, a pseudo-horror experience. The cacophony of droning you are met with immediately after loading into the first level sets the scene for the rest of the game in that this is not your average DOOM game, the re-textures on all the enemies were an extremely welcome touch. I actually prefer some of the designs here to the original ones, specifically this games version of the cacodemon.

However a double-edged sword of this installment is about the puzzles of this game, they are a lot less forgiving especially when it comes to secret items. There are mistakes you can make that irreversibly destroy any chance to actually get to a secret, there are also extremely methodical and obtuse steps you have to take just to get certain secrets. I myself really enjoy this feature, but I understand why a casual player would dislike this. As you actually have a very slim chance of finding these without going out of your way for a walkthrough. The game is also a lot more puzzle heavy than its predecessors outside of secrets. If you are looking for a more horror oriented experience I would heavily recommend this version of DOOM, but if you prefer the run and gun ass kicking, the original and newer DOOM's might suit you better.

The art in this game is second to none. I don't recall exactly what methods they used but it worked phenomenally. I absolutely adore some of the character designs in this game.
The boss fights are a tad difficult, yet still fun even through that! The story is also a bit charming, the inkwell style era makes things a lot more fun and there is a bunch of great music that comes from this game

However I have a hard time going back to it after completion as I cannot find any reason to ever really go back, once I've beaten a boss it feels like I have little reason to ever fight it again, I already know what to do and I can usually just do the same thing, nothing new or unique tends to happen as most of the fights are extremely predictable due to it being a bullet hell style game. Even by switching ammo types rather than having a unique experience it just feels like i'm making the game harder on myself for no reason. The actual levels felt a bit shallow compared to the grandiose bosses you would end up fighting either directly before or after, it's strange going from traditional side scroller levels into those.

I really enjoy seeing games take more headlong approaches on issues like this, it's like when your favorite TV Sitcom tackles real life issues. Sometimes games are good to escape the problems from day to day life but other times it's nice to gather insight on something you yourself might not personally deal with. I'd say this a good gateway for that.

The gameplay is very smooth, I am a big fan of the pixelated graphics and the music choice is very nice! The main game is decently challenging to where it is still fun yet difficult, but I also really enjoy the concept of B-side versions of stages that you have already played. Making further challenging parts of your games optional for hardcore fans is a major bonus for me. There's a lot of replayability in the Berry system and B-sides.

This game is a fever dream. I remembered it in a passing thought and had to consciously recognize this is a real game, made by real people. I can't review the story. I don't even know if there is one. It felt like I was playing cards with the Mad Hatter. It's hilarious though. I remember it fondly, and I especially loved those space race levels. It's just a silly game for children at the end of the day and it does that very well! Some parts are strangely scary for said children though, so do watch out for that.

I have played this game more times than I can count on both my hands. Not even including the remakes! I really, really loved this version of Pokemon. The Johto region was so cool to me as a kid, and Totodile is my favorite starter of all-time (I LOVE crocodiles.) The legendaries of this generation were very cool even if they were still just flying birds like the first game, Ho-Oh is one of the coolest designs to me for a pokemon to date. My only gripes are that for new time players, at least one of the puzzles is extremely confusing if you don't tend to explore very much, but all in all this was a very fun experience for me. I would heavily recommend this for any retro style collection, it's a classic!

Gears 4's campaign was an absolute mess, which is why this one surprised me so much. They took what was possibly one of their worst campaigns and turned it into a very fun experience. I absolutely love the settings in this, you get to experience Sera as a planet instead of just another earth clone with linear levels. They took a big risk making this a pseudo open world experience but it worked great in my opinion. being able to explore a gears game like this was magical. The campaign in and of itself was very good in my opinion, has lots of replay-ability due to player choice affecting some outcomes.

Regarding the multiplayer, its standard gears multiplayer. I enjoy the addition of being able to see how much damage your shot did to the opponent, its nice to know if you actually had a bad shot vs thinking the game just didnt register it or something.

Horde mode, I am absolutely not a fan. as a game mode in and of itself its good, it just lacks what the predecessors before it had. Customization. sure, you technically can choose whatever character you want, but the addition of ultimates makes some better than others, and that removes the personality from it in my opinion. It was nice seeing people choose their favorite characters and being able to talk to them about it, now it seems more about meta than who people truly like.

It's just pretty alright, nothing too offensive really. I wasn't the biggest fan of the campaign although it had its moments, introduced the retro lancer and sawed off which is sorta cool I suppose? it feels like this was game was very forgettable compared to others in the franchise due to not changing things up that much, multiplayer was solid and the horde mode changes were very welcome. its pretty much just an average, good game.

My favorite Gears of War bar none. This was its peak, you had an amazing storyline with back to back to back insanely fun missions. The gunplay was at it's best and I believe this was the introduction to horde mode! Multiplayer maps all looked gorgeous and seemed well balanced enough. Nothing beats the grittiness of this era of Gears, the gore and action was unmatched. The sound design was also very very nice. It also has my favorite Carmine! All around a really great game. Held up extremely well over the years too.

Im certain I made the right choice specifically getting the Wii version of this game as I had the glory of using the Wii shotgun remote. That was an unreal experience. I'll admit, it's been a decade and I don't remember the game all too well. But it was decent enough to leave a fond memory! But only with the Wii shotgun. It is very imperative you play with that remote. Gets you the full Cabela experience

I joined into the game very late into it's lifespan and I am paying the price. It feels impossible to do almost anything, I am consistently getting bodied game after game and it feels like I can't really do much about it, even after taking the time to learn certain things about the game it just feels like too much. The whole 6v6 element makes it very hard to do as a solo experience because I cannot communicate well with my teammates. Maybe it's a skill issue, but it seems very unfriendly to newcomers having been around for so long.

Bastion Fishing is good though. Added half a star just for that. Love me some fishin.

Michael Mando is going to have spinal issues for the rest of his life from how badly he carried this game.

Jason is a bad protagonist. I honestly get what they were going for, but it just doesn't work at all. He comes off as a bitter, selfish asshole and I just despise playing as him. The only part of the story I enjoyed with him was siding with his girlfriend at the end of the story because that's how it should be. Fuck this "the jungle is claiming him" narrative. he's a white guy in way over his head. He is no warrior. I'm just crazy on the sticks.
Vaas however, as overquoted as he may be is just. He's special. Michael Mando's performance was great and I love the ambiguity of his fate after his "death." Hoyt doesn't even feel like a cheap replacement either, he's great in his own right seperate from Vaas. If anything they did the villains very well. Great villains, poor protagonist.

Gameplay is solid enough with some fun events around the island, classic Far Cry healing makes fights a lot more intense, even if the AI is a bit dumb. It's a decent enough game

For a smash game this is remarkably balanced. Despite the current discourse from SmashCon2022 it genuinely feels like you can play just about anybody and have some metric of fun! In my opinion the items make it less fun in a party setting due to the chain reaction of whoever gets one usually gets them all. I tend to play only with my friends but online play isnt the worst, the netplay could use some serious fine tuning but its a platform fighter and a damn good one! 86 characters you're bound to find one you really really enjoy. Everyone is here!

This game heavily depends on the honor of your friends. Do not take it seriously or you will be overwhelmed with anger. Very fun party game every once in a blue moon, it is golf after all. It has a strangely large amount of variety in that you can change the shape of your ball (it never ends well.) but it is variety nonetheless! good amount of levels too.

James Bond games are just different, theres something about them thats alluring even after the years of wear and tear. Maybe its the fact Piers Brosnan is just such a personality to have as a protagonist. This game was a key part of my childhood and that snow castle level is etched into my mind. My only complaints are that the difficulty at some parts is WAY too high. Some key story events are also just strange. But thats just how 007 is. The multiplayer is godlike though.
